I stayed in a lovely small flatlet for two nights. Nice comfy bed, kitchen kitted out with the basic appliances and a nice sized bathroom. It's situated in a great location, just a short walk to the town centre. The breakfast was delicious, perfect start to the day. There's umbrellas to borrow from reception - which proved to be very...

Came here for a week for business. Checked in on the Sunday evening and was met by a lovely lady. I was given tour round and offered full assistance. Beautiful rooms very very clean. Lovely tea and coffee facilities and comfy bed. Breakfast in the morning is delicious from a large choice of continental to full cooked cannot fault it....

We decided to take a last minute short trip away to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We also wanted to go somewhere near to relatives, so we could call in and see them on our way home. Searching through 'Trip Advisor' we found 'The Abbey Hotel' that we thought met our needs exactly. We rang them and a friendly voice greeted...

The Abbey is exactly what it says - a hotel in buildings that were once part of the abbey. The rooms are comfortable, luxurious and exceptionally clean. The staff are friendly welcoming and kind. This is more like staying with a relative than a paid for hotel. Extremely easy access to Bury St Edmunds - great for a short break

I've just returned from a weekend break with family in Bury St Edmunds. We were made to feel really welcome by everyone at the Abbey hotel- especially Clare who was so great at dealing with all our requests. The accommodation itself was really cosy and the buildings have been carefully restored to maintain it's original charm. Breakfasts were really good...

Lovely small hotel. Room was comfortable and contained everything we needed. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and such a bonus to have on site parking. Conveniently potion ed for all Bury St Edmunds has to offer. Would definitely return.

Pleasant room with all the facilities you would expect. Bathroom shower was rather awkward as was the parking. Quite a struggle to get the car out as I was the first to leave. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful - rather missed not having a bar although it is not a long walk into town.

Super location with excellent reviews here and in hotel visitor book. BUT we had several issues with housekeeping, I felt the breakfast was good but not excellent. Maybe we were unlucky but not worth the 4* rating/price in my opinion.

An historic building with aged wall ceiling and floor contours but a modern helpful service from a staff for whom helpfulness came naturally. We had a lovely stay there for a few days while visiting the area. Car park has a narrow gateway and care is needed coming in off the street but then, it was built before anyone thought...

Overnight stay here whilst working in Bury. The hotel is in a good location, not far from the town centre. The hotel is on a medium sized residential street so it was quiet overnight. There was a really warm welcome and very friendly staff. The room was clean and had coffee and tea facilities, basic toiletries, TV and an arm...
