Really well thought out outdoor dining. Good food, plenty of heaters, cushions for the straw bales and really pleasant staff. Our trip was a family birthday; age range from 13years to 81 nearly 82 and we were all catered for. So nice not to be sitting at an outdoor table under a tiny parasol freezing to death which is all that is on offer at a lot venues we looked at. We were there at lunchtime but would imagine that it would be lovely in the marquee at night with all the lights and heaters. If you want a rustic environment we recommend a visit. If you want fine dining with tablecloths and all the trimmings, wait until the restaurant reopens. For a different and very enjoyable experience, please book it exceeded our expectations.

I really don’t go out of my way to right reviews but I felt people should be warned. We planned a very special 70th meal for my mums birthday, we had visited pre-COVID and it was really nice. On booking we were offered a champagne reception and sparklers for the cake, both of which we booked, sounds lovely doesn’t it. I could not have been more surprised when we turned up and were seated on hay bails in a grubby freezing cold tent. The food when it came was served in cardboard boxes, we cancelled the champagne, which they didn’t seem happy about but obviously it didn’t really go with the 3am outside a nightclub vibe. The service was terrible, I asked the waitress if I could see the children’s menu she said we don’t have one and when the waiter came to take our order and I asked for a small portion he retorted you should have ordered from the children’s menu! We had eaten out at a lovely place the day before so my expectations may have been raised but If you intend to eat here don’t wear good clothes, don’t expect a chair and don’t expect plates, oh and be ready to clear your own table into a box at the end! Definitely one to give a miss.

We're sorry you did not enjoy your visit to us. We have received great feedback for the Emporium and we apologise that your expectations have not been matched We are having to operate under the restrictions and government guidelines at the current time. Therefore outside dining is the only option. We aimed to create a rustic environment within the grounds and this has been praised by numerous guests. The packaging for the food is environmentally friendly and is better equipped to keep the food warm. It is conducive to the ambience with the smoke shack et al, and allows distancing to be observed more easily. There are shelters and heaters throughout the grounds and people have commented on the great atmosphere that is seen to be fun and concurrent with a more informal dining experience. We apologise for any confusion with the menus and that you have felt compelled to write a negative review. We are happy to offer more detail for any enquiries made for the Emporium, and are once again sorry if you expected something different in terms of the offering Best wishes Ravenwood Hall

We stayed in the MEWS (previously the stables). The rooms were tastefully decorated, a reasonable size for a short stay and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating at a difficult time for them and us. The grounds around Ravenwood are lovely and we had French doors that opened on to the gardens, with a table and chairs outside our door to sit in the sun. The downside to our stay was that the restaurant was not open,'because of COVID so we had a breakfast box delivered to the room - I think the contents could have been better.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're pleased you enjoyed the majority of aspects to your stay. The Mews rooms are quaint and comfortable and ideal for exploring the grounds as they each have doors that open up straight into the patios and gardens We're sorry we could not make the restaurant available during these difficult times. The breakfast box is created to ensure convenience and variation for our guests under the current restrictions. Please do let us know if you have particular suggestions - we are always pleased to receive constructive feedback We hope to welcome you back soon and with all the facilities available Best wishes and kind regards

We have eaten at Ravenwood Hall numerous times, but inside. Due to the current pandemic this was not permitted so we decided to try the The Edible Emporium outside dining for my birthday. What an experience. They have made so much effort and it looked magical at night. The service was amazing as was the food and we both had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a fantastic evening. We will be back!

The team put on the best wedding imaginable while obeying the covid regulations absolutely perfectly. Particular shoutout to Sarah for organising it so well and to Michael for running the show so well on the day. Thanks for such a special day! James
