I've just come back from a 3 night stay with my other half at the North Stafford Hotel and was very pleasantly surprised considering some of the awful reviews on here! The hotel is as convenient for the station as you can get - it is literally right across the road, so no need for faffing about with a taxi.... More

My husband and I were attending the Rod Stewart concert on Saturday 14 June and stayed at this hole because we were desperate. It is absolutely disgusting and can't believe they are still open and charging people to stay there. Receptionist had a face like she was on death row. The room was honestly one of the worst ive ever... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day trip and spent three days/nights in the North Stafford Hotel! We were very pleasantly surprised at our room as reviews we had read were awful! Our room was large and airy....the beds were comfortable and the bedding and towels were clean and white!! The bath room was large too... More

My other half and I stayed here for 2 nights as we were going to Alton Towers. The receptionist was ok but could of been more polite. It was £3 per day for parking. There was a party downstairs both nights. Our bedroom was ok on first glance (after a long drive we arrived at about 10:30 and just wanted... More

Myself and my husband stayed here for a wedding in July 2013. The room smelt damp. The wallpaper was coming off the wall due to the damp. It felt entirely unclean, so much so I didn't want to take my shoes off. There was dirty socks in the wardrobe. Definitely wouldn't return!!

My family booked this hotel as part of a deal for me to see Rod Stewart. I was well prepared for the hotel as we have stayed at a couple of other Britannia Hotels and I wasn't shocked. We booked a room for us and a family room for our daughter her partner and his little girl. The rooms were... More

The pictures make it look a lot better then it is! Only stayed one night, that was enough for me. The room was so hot you couldn't sleep, the window didn't even work! The bath didn't work probably and it leaked all over the floor, the staff were hardly there and very rude! Cheap but awful stay!

Me and my partner stayed here for a trip to Alton towers, found it to be one of the cheapest on the compare sights and choose it mostly for its location, it's right accross from the train station which was ideal, upon arrival it seemed nice, receptionist was friendly and the room was a good size and clean enough, bit... My husband and I stayed at this hotel from the 13th-15th June, we chose not to eat here and so the following review does not include the restaurant. Check-in was uneventful and the staff were polite, however, the hotel decor was 'tired', to say the least. The room, although fairly spacious, left a lot to be desired. It looked grubby,... More

My family stayed for one night. Hotel looks great from the outside. There is a sign on the wall at entrance saying "No food or alcohol to be brought on the premises" WHAT????
