I stopped off for a quick coffee both before and after an interview in the local area. The coffee was nice and the setting was fabulous. We perched on some sofas beside the log fire. The staff were extremely friendly and even asked how I got on with my interview after. They have recently refurbished the venue so I would...

My wife and I attended a wedding and stayed overnight just before Christmas. The hotel, which is a former country house, is first class with wonderful period decor, excellent facilities and accommodation. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive and the food was first class. Our room was a bit of a climb up stairs but was very tastefully furnished...

Well we held our wedding at Swinfen Hall 27/12/15. It is an exceptional venue. From the initial visit until the end of our stay, we have nothing but praise for the quality of the service, the food and the attention to detail. These people are consummate professionals in managing occasions. Their staff are discrete but so aware and attentive. Why...

Yesterday spent a wonderful Sunday lunch at the hotel, a birthday treat from my two daughters. Couldn't fault the staff, food and the whole experience was quite lovely. The interior and outside are quite breath taking. Thank you Swinfen.

We visited the Swinfen Hall Hotel in Early December and stayed in the lovely Patience Swinfen Suite with views to die for. Everything was perfect. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, they were extremely pleasant and made the stay unforgettable. Decorated for Christmas the hotel looked a dream. The evening meal in the restaurant and the breakfast were fantastic....

Working away I stay in a lot of hotels. Swinfen is a gem. A lovely period house set in fantastic grounds. With it's own deer it makes a great setting for a romantic weekend or just a business trip. Food in the main restaurant is lovely - not to be missed. The bar is also great with a wide selection...

This is a most elegant hotel set in 100 acres of land. On entering, to the side stands a low table where you will be greeted by a member of staff. No high reception counter, far more discreet. Ahead of you there is a beautiful balcony accessed through an archway and up the stairs which then leads to the rooms....

We were greeted and shown to a private room for afternoon tea and a double baby shower. The table was beautifully arranged and the view from our windows was green fields full of roaming deers. The staff were attentive and no request was too much trouble. The refreshments were wonderful, delicate sandwiches and amazing cakes and light scones. They catered...

This is a great hotel - from the moment you sweep up the drive through parkland and the automatic gates swing open, to the moment they shut behind you, you'll be pampered and well looked after. On parking a valet will come and collect your luggage, escort you to reception and then on to your room. Fine dining available including...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Swinfen Hall Hotel is a beautiful Georgian manor house set in 100 acres of parkland incorporating formal gardens, a private deer park, wild hay meadows and woodland. Although the hotel has been described as 'an architectural gem' and is blessed with a wealth of historic features, we also embrace the creature comforts of the here and now. Flatscreen TVs, DVD players, IPOD docking stations and free wi-fi are standard in all our bedrooms alongside bathrobes, mineral water, a good selection of guest amenities and a well-stocked hospitality tray. In addition to our AA 2-rosette Four Seasons restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner, we have a Bar and Terrace menu for light snacks and offer a delicious traditional Afternoon Tea. We also have a magnificent oak-paneled Edwardian ballroom with a raised stage and fully-sprung dance floor, which is a wonderful venue for wedding receptions, presentations and private parties. We are proud to be an AA Inspectors Choice Red Star hotel - come and visit us and see what this means. Our little oasis of peace and calm lies on the A38, two miles south of the historic city of Lichfield, ½ a mile from the M6 toll road and only 20 minutes from the heart of Birmingham. ... more   less
