Stayed here for two nights. Room was comfortable and reasonably well equipped. Bathroom was small but perfectly functional. No toiletries provided other than soap. Not a lot of space for putting on makeup near the decent lighting but I managed well enough. The kettle was the noisiest I have ever come across. Drowned out any other sound! One word of...

Booked Four Poster, there was an additional option , "do you prefer bath or shower, chose bath. Because of that did not get Four Poster. Double room OK but was charged for Four Poster, was told because I opted for Bath, got what I asked for, no reduction in price. Manager blamed Booking.Com. Spent 25 minutes looking for the "parking...

Stayed overnight on a Saturday, luckily we had booked the restaurant ahead as we were informed it was fully booked that night. Top floor room, very steep second flight of stairs. Clean and cosy room. Breakfast a bit hit and miss. Husband ordered a boiled egg as we were in hurry to get the car from the overnight car park...

The room was small....the "luxurious" 4 poster bed was small. We requested a room with a bath but only got a tiny shower room. I had to go out and buy a shower cap as I was expecting to luxuriate in a bath. The room was not cleaned until the afternoon and then the bathroom bin was not emptied. The...

We had a one night stay in room 7 which is on the very top floor. The receptionist was very friendly and down to earth. The room was small and cosy and had a lovely view of the cathedral which was beautiful at night and equally pretty in the morning. The room had a small en-suite which was adequate. The...

Very friendly hotel, excellent food, (Italian restaurant on site) comfortable rooms with lots of character. The hi light though has to be the amazing view of the cathedral from your bedroom window, absolutely stunning! Situated just off of the main walkway to the cathedral along a flower filled display of hanging baskets and amazing cobbled streets, breathtaking!

We arrive and were given the key to a room on the top floor. Unfortunately the last flight of stairs frightened me so much (personal fear of steep steps) that we went down to see if we could change rooms. They could not have been more helpful and moved us to the one in the picture above. The view was...

Very old coaching inn, quirky rooms but very clean and individual. Staff were excellent always friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant was up there with the best at very reasonable price, Italian cuisine, great service and did not have to wait long for food - would highly recommend. Downside, as with anywhere in Wells, is the car parking - we were...

This really is the ancient gatehouse, which makes it a great location if you're visiting Wells cathedral, but it does come with some drawbacks. It has windy stairs and narrow corridors, all very charming, but it's definitely in need of an upgrade. We had a room at the front, so no cathedral view, and on a Saturday night, inevitably noisy,...
