This was an unusual stay for us. Unusual because my wife thought she was booking Apsley House in Bath where we stayed a few years ago and which was an absolutely 5 star stay (highly recommend this!). 'Never mind' we thought when we saw the house 'looks nice enough'. And it was, except and I have to agree with pammyjeanNewZealand's... More

Interesting to read other reviews on Astor House with similar experiences to our own as far as the customer service went. It was really hard to say who the hosts of this place actually were. When my partner and I arrived there wasn't anyone in and there was a key left out and instructions stuck to the door. We had... More

Astor House is a lovely place to stay, with a very welcoming host, great breakfast and gorgeous garden. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed, though it was a bit cramped with four beds and several chairs. I think a bit less furniture would be better. Our room fob had a Bath visitors pass which gave us a... More

My daughter and I stayed at Astor House for a couple of nights in August. We were greeted as we arrived and shown to our twin room on the first floor. The room was clean, beautifully decorated and had a fabulous view of the garden. Excellent bathroom. We enjoyed the fact that we could leave the car, walk into Bath... More

A really lovely place to stay, we arrived early but could luckily check-in. We were given a map of Bath and told what they best things to do were. The room was lovely, a huge bed, lovely and clean en-suite bathroom with a great view of the garden. Breakfasts were delicious with a large selection and great coffee. We were... More

This works well: you come BACK to the B&B panting and sweaty having climbed the hill on the south side of the city, while cruising downhil dry and relaxedl into town earlier on. It's in a swanky neighbourhood, and the building itself is one of those desired Portland stone villas, it's the perfect place to live if you're a banker... More

A very nice place to stay. The distance to the centre of the city is walkable but realize that the hills are steal. The service was fine and I had a nice breakfast. I would recommend this accommodation to others

Stayed there last weekend for our 10th wedding anniversary , room was nice, asked for red roses, red petals to be placed on the bed and a cake . They did not disappoint my wife and lived up to their good reputation. Breakfast was nice, a wide choice and catered for an allergy diet i.e. soya milk. Would highly recommend... More

We arrived after our stay in Salisbury and the service aspect of our stay was completely the opposite of where we came from. Our previous host greeted us, asked our names, made our daughter feel comfortable and introduced themselves. When we arrived at Astor, we rang the doorbell, the door opened and the first words were, "what is your name".... More

Nice building, generally lovely staff, and good location. Cheap enough too, but one staff member - cold, sarcastic, judgemental - lets it down completely. It's not hard to treat your guests with a smile and a scintilla of compassion - especially when I was in such crippling back pain - but one staff member very obviously deliberately chose not to....
