Three miles from the centre of historic Bath, Combe Grove is a Grade II-listed manor house that stands in 76 acres of rolling woodland, within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The hotel enjoys outstanding views over the Limpley Stoke valley, out towards the Westbury White Horse, as well as a range of excellent health, fitness, and leisure facilities. The tranquil woodland setting gives guests the opportunity to combine a peaceful break in the countryside, with a city break to Bath. There is ample free parking on site, so guests may leave their cars behind and take a short open top bus ride from the top of the drive to explore the city. There’s plenty to do locally too, with country walks, boat trips and the American Museum very close by. At Combe Grove you will find space to breathe, relax, and unwind, with nine spacious, stylish rooms in the Manor House, or choose one of our 31 comfortable and contemporary rooms in the separate Garden Lodge, just a short walk down the drive. Whilst here you can take advantage of the hilltop fresh air and sleep with the windows open so that you can listen to birdsong. Guests can choose to play tennis, practice their swing on the driving range or join in a range of dynamic fitness classes including Les Mills’ BODYPUMP and BODYATTACK, Spin on our new Life Fitness IC5 bikes, or you may choose a more relaxing yoga or Pilates session in the studio. One-to-one sessions are available with personal trainers and yoga teachers too, just get in touch in advance of your stay to book. Why not follow a class with a leisurely swim in our Nordic-inspired indoor swimming pool, or even a dip in the heated outdoor swimming pool during summer*. Enjoy use of the sauna, steam room, and our gym too. Therapy appointments are available to have from the comfort of your hotel room when you stay in the Manor House or a Garden Balcony. Further treatments are available in the spa too. They are popular, so please get in touch to add these to your booking in advance of your stay. Breakfast is made to order in the elegant Orangery and we have a range of seasonal dining menus available throughout the day, all freshly prepared with love and care. Take tea on the terrace, supper in the Drawing Room, a feast in the Roman Room or a light bite in the bar – whatever works best for you to ensure maximum relaxation. *Specific swimming times are available for children who are accompanied by adults. Please ask about these in advance of your stay

Persevere with the drive down the driveway ! I felt like perhaps I had taken a wrong turning because the driveway was so long, but it's worth it when you reach the destination . Ample car parking available. Very warm welcome at reception, with an offer of assistance with my

I’m so sorry to see that you were disappointed with a couple of elements of your stay. For New Year’s Eve guests, we did try to communicate to all that we are a little different to some hotels, majoring on peaceful stays, encouraging guests to celebrate at other venues on the night. Sincere apologies if that was not communicated on arrival. You certainly should not have felt uncomfortable in the bar and please be assured that your note here, including the housekeeping feedback, is being shared with the relevant management teams. On booking.com, we try to make it as clear as possible in the room descriptions that some of our rooms are set to one side from the main house i.e. ‘These ground-floor rooms are located in the Garden Lodge, which is a short walk from the main building. They benefit from their own terrace and seating area, a double bed and a flat-screen TV.’ We hope you will be enticed back in the warmer months by our lovely indoor and outdoor pools as well as our terrace views! Kind regards, Andrea

Expected more from a supposed 4 star hotel. Offered an upgrade to our room on arrival and put in a room that has construction work next door. Not very relaxing when you want to have a lie in and relax in the room to be woken up by building site noises. I would say the room was

Hello Bhook281, I’m so sorry we disappointed you in any way and that our locally sourced menu and food style wasn’t to your liking. We are busy renovating the hotel and Coach House leisure centre, with details shared openly on our website, and sincerely apologise for any noise interruptions. Yours sincerely, Andrea

Hi, All the changing rooms have been modernised and the pool is warm, they've still got more improvements to do regarding the Spa but overall it's still nice. There's a steam room, hydrobeds and sauna's in the male and female changing rooms. Enjoy.

It's beautiful. We only stayed one night but we loved our stay here. Nothing to complain about. The location is great, the service is brilliant and not to mention the amazing breakfast in the morning. It's definitely a romantic place to stay at so don't worry, you've made the right decision with this hotel. Enjoy your time there. DK
