We had afternoon tea here for our daughter's birthday. Lovely surroundings and decor. Contrary to the varied menu advertised on the website, the choice was very limited in reality, e.g. no savoury option, and only fruit scones. There was the flexibility to order an extra round of sandwiches and less cake however.

Just got back from 2 nights in this comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful; it seems that nothing was too much trouble; everything was done with a smile and a cheerful word. The bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable, with a nice shower room. We had a room at the front with a view over Queens Sq,...

We stayed at Francis hotel for 2 nights, I think it's one of the prettiest hotels I've ever been in. Very professional and friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms and perfectly positioned for a walk in the city centre

The hotel has limited parking. Difficult access to the car park for large cars and confusing entry as you have to drive in over a road sign marked in the floor turning out. Dinned in Brasserie Blanc. Had a terrible experience. We were ignored by waitresses, kept waiting an hour for food which turned up luke warm. Order was also...

Four of us went to bath over February half term. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room needed a bit more tlc as there was some mould round the shower and the blind cord was very dusty. Our friends room was immaculate. The only reservation about our stay was a mix up over breakfast. We were told on...

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. The location of this hotel is its great selling point. On Queens Square, it is a short walking distance to anything you want to see. We loved staying in this hotel, which is part of the history of Bath, being originally separate houses built by John Wood who was the architect of many...

Spending Saturday in Bath and in need of refreshment. The hotel stands proud in Queen's Square. Decided to splash out on a full afternoon tea. Tea, fizz and clotted cream scones; really nice. Good service. All clean and tidy.

Dear BluellRider_S1 Thank you for dropping by last Saturday. It's lovely to step away from the bustling streets for a little tea and tranquility isn't it! I'm delighted that you found everything to your satisfaction. See you next time! Mads Nielsen.

Public rooms reflect the expected ambience of this old hotel. Rooms try to maintain the old fashioned approach, why. Bright, modern would bring the rooms into the 21st century and be a good contrast. Also, why only one comfortable easy chair for two guests? Food in Brasserie Blanc was excellent, lovely lobster tails, belly of pork, very light soufflé. Breakfast...

My husband's 80th birthday present from me! From the moment we arrived to when we finally (reluctantly) left it was a first class experience. Not sure I can praise it too highly! Staff all very friendly and you felt that they really cared about you. Room excellent, clean and comfortable. Bath towels to die for (this is usually a bugbear...

Arrived to a lovely welcome and room was ready early. Really individual rooms, well furnished in an old building. Yes the floors aren't level and the boards squeak, but that is all part of the charm. We had a superior room, which was very spacious and had good views over Queen Square. If you are visiting Bath and doing all...
