Made the booking the night before I travelled to Sheffield, read a few mixed reviews so wasnt sure what to expect, however I have nothing but praise for the accommodation and staff. Arrived early afternoon, was allocated a single room on the bottom floor. It was a disabled access room which I didn't require, but it was the last room. Location - perfect, 10 mins walk into the main city centre of Sheffield but there are loads of bars and restaurants on the way. Parking - included and free, you get an allocated space and there is a barrier with a buzzer to gain access. Staff - very helpful and pleasant, nothing else to say. Room - absolutely fine. Bed was comfortable and clean. Loads of towels and amenities. Tea and coffee in the room. Desk, chair, fan, wardrobe and hairdryer all included. Had everything I might require. There are no TV's in the rooms, which doesn't bother me, but they have several communal areas which were closed due to covid. This also applied to the kitchen area. Totally understandable. One thing I will say for all the complainers out there is that there are minor scuffs on some of the skirting boards, and the grouting in the bathroom isn't perfect, but who cares. Reading some of the reviews it's laughable at what people moan about, the rooms are of a great standard and for £40 a night it's a bargain. Other dates were as little as £32 per night. Parking alone for 2 days would have cost more elsewhere. I was also left a breakfast bag outside the door both mornings which was appreciated. I read a review in which someone was disappointed with the view, and I would be curious to find out what sort of view they were expecting in Sheffield city centre..... Needless to say I wasn't met with herds of majestic wildebeest or a breathtaking view of the Yorkshire Dale's when I looked out the window, but I wasn't expecting to. Will return.…
According to Booking.com ratings say fabulous but sadly this isn’t the case, so called continental breakfast consisted of rice Krispys and yoghurt, cafe closed every weekend so no alternatives, no TV in room and not the cleanest either, bed springs in mattress can be felt under sheets and flat hard pillows with a duvet thats way too small for bed, On both nights could here foreign men shouting at each other on the landing in the early hours of morning, spoke to man on reception and he clearly couldn’t care less, said yes you do get that sometimes with no apology or an offer to be moved, all in all disgusting
We stayed 1 night in the city, for the price you really can't beat this place. It was clean, comfy bed - there was a fan in the room which we needed at some point during the night, tea & coffee making facilities in the room, shower was good. There is a free breakfast of yoghurt, cereal, fruit etc in a kitchen close to the room - so you could cook for yourself if you wanted. It's set out very much like a halls of residence in that respect. Very central location.
We spent a week in the serviced apartment in this centre. I would highly recommend it as a base for a family staying in Sheffield. The apartment was spotlessly clean and bigger than we had expected. Three really spacious bedrooms and good living space. The essentials - milk, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, tea and coffee, were all there to get us over the first night and morning and these were stocked up through the week. The staff were amazing and could not have been more helpful. The cafe in the centre is great for lunch or coffee. The location is just a 5 minute walk from the tramline and everything is accessible from there. Also there is a park which our kids (5&7) loved.
Stayed the one night whilst my daughter had an operation in the children’s hospital which was a 10 minute walk away so was ideal for my purpose. Staff really friendly and warm welcoming and very helpful. Room was very clean (double) bit warm but was a fan in the room, toiletries and towels provided also tea/coffee and wifi and help yourself breakfast in the corridors kitchen or can goto the reception cafe for breakfast. The only moan il say is some foreign guests leaving at 5.30am very loud and not considerate of others. Would definitely stay again also across the road you got akbars curry house and opposite road bath hotel pub with excellent ale and a South Indian indian 👍
