Stumbled across the bar/restaurant as we wanted a hot drink in nice surroundings. Hillsborough is rather run down so it was a joy to find that the barracks had been given a new lease of life thanks to Morrisons & the local council. Lots of history, great service, very well priced, cosy & relaxing. Only negative was the interior lacked...

“Huge bed with crisp white linen and bright white towels. Heating very good as v cold outside. Staff exceptionally friendly and nothing too much trouble.” Although we were given a disabled room, Breakfast Room, Bar and Restaurant are up 2 flights of stairs!!!!( hence 4*). Yes it's all a bit dated but clean and ideal for a 2 night break....

Stayed on business as my usual hotel was full. Helpful reception staff and good breakfast with excellent service but the room wasn't great, I didn't feel comfortable and although the linen was clean things like grubby plugs and dusty corners meant I didn't feel I could relax properly as it didn't feel spotless which I expect from a hotel room....

This is a well situated hotel for those who wish to be near the action. We stayed for bed and breakfast along with several others who were out on the town for a" work's do". The accommodation was adequate; the bed comfortable and on a particularly cold night the room was warm. The full English breakfast the next day was...

Great location for the greyhounds Good car parking space Rooms, small but clean and tidy but very, very hot even with heating turned off, could do with air conditioning Toiletries were basic, not luxury as described on one site. No shampoo or body lotion supplied, these are usually standard toiletries. Bath towels very small. Duvets were extremely thick, maybe just...

We were invited to a murder mystery evening for a friends anniversary and this place was just brilliant. The bar was well stocked (including Strongbow), there was enough space for the huge number of people that were invited, the food was brilliant and the staff were friendly and efficient. From the outside I never thought much of this hotel but...

I have been eating here for years, originally with work colleagues and now at lunchtime and evenings with friends. The staff are great, the atmosphere is friendly and you can sit and chat over a coffee with no sense of rush. Of late though I have been disappointed with the changes to the menu. All the light bites have gone!...

We appreciate your feedback and of course value you as a regular customer. We are having a restructure of our menus currently and we are pleased to tell you that the 9.95 deal menu now does have the choice of hot drinks in addition to wine beer and soft drinks following guest feedback. A higher quality freshly prepared seasonal menu...

Visited on a quiet weekday just after Christmas so it wasn't very busy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary but fully acceptable. It is a hotel and the prices reflected this, seemed a little over priced for what we had and an item was missed off on one of the...

I stayed here two nights last month as I was visiting friends. It's handy for the tram and bus interchange. There are shops close by and a large Morrison's and McDonald's. The rooms are in blocks and at first glance, reminded me of the old Butlins chalets! It seems it isn't possible to go to your room direct from the...

With no notice we had to stay in Sheffield and this hotel was very affordable and had space for us. We've never been to Sheffield before and this hotel is situated just off the main road so is very easy to find. Plenty of parking, which is always an advantage. The old part of the building is the bar, the...
