Stayed here 1 night as I needed to look at the university and I live very far away. Room - horrible decor, very little light, barely any appliances or luxuries (e.g. soaps, shampoos etc.), seriously uncomfortable bed. Location - perfect for me as it was a 5 minute walk from the university, but don't know what it would be like...

I have been remiss. When my mother was in hospital last year, we stayed here as a couple and later I returned on my own twice. The manager and staff were brilliant, even allowing me to park to visit hospital when I was not actually staying. I neglected to pay me sincere respects to all the staff for there overwhelming...

Booked at the last minute, my wife and I found the hotel very pleasing. Nice polite staff, very attentive. Clean room. Wonderful breakfast. Very close to the hospital. 10 minutes walk to town. Free hotel parking. Definitely staying again.

We did hope The Rutland would be just the job for our visits to Sheffield over the next four years, sadly not. As others have said if you just need a comfortable bed that that's about all we got. Our first double room was very dark which the frame around the window and décor did not help. On closer inspection...

Overall pleasant independent place, quiet location but close to everything. Didn't stay for dinner/breakfast, but the menu looked good. Single room was enough for one night, and the bathroom was modern and clean. Woken repeatedly in the morning though by the squeaky floorboards outside and above my room. This has been raised before, and they really can be fixed. There's...

We stopped at this hotel for two nights, we did not have any say in this as it was booked for us. We spent the first night in a poky little twin room set in the attic of the building. The size of the bathroom was miniscule. There was not enough room between the shower screen and the toilet. I...

The food was excellent, as was the service. As someone who has to follow a gluten free diet I often find when meals are modified to be gluten free this is often done by simply removing items and not replacing them with anything else and as such I am left feeling somewhat cheated. Not so at the Rutland. Not only...
