Where do I start. Car park was at best an off road area with little light and little demarcation. Receotion was 10 out of 10, efficient and very good. Bar was cold and unheated. Bar staff friendly and welcoming. Room. 10 x 10 with a large comfortable bed. No heating. Had a 12 inch gap around bed. Bathroom was a... More

This was not a comfortable stay, after lugging my bags up two floors as there is no lift I entered my room to find myself back in the 1970s, this hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment. Having said that the bathroom had a more modern feel but the water went cold after a few minutes in the shower. Decent... More

I stayed in the Rutland Hotel for one night as I was visiting the Royal Hallamshire Hospital nearby on business the following day. The hotel looks tired and in need of a major refurbishment and the dinner was average. That being said, the staff were friendly and obliging. Not up to the standard of modern budget hotels like the Premier... More

The Rutland has a great position in Sheffield especially if you need to be around the uni., etc. The common areas are acceptable if a little tired and the staff were, as almost everyone seems to be in Yorkshire, exceedingly polite. I understand their hotels at all levels and all price points but no way this is 4-star. We were... More

We have been staying at the Rutland annually, for 5 years, while our son has treatment at the Hallamshire. We had noticed declining standards over the years but this year the hotel has fallen below any minimum standard: it is dirty (touch the Venetian blinds and skirting boards if you dare!),!smells and is poorly maintained (taped over holes in the... Lovely, clean, spacious bedroom & en suite. Close to hospital for my husbands appointment. Wi fi not good. Horrible smell of fish in the room in the evening. Think would request a room away from kitchen & restuarant if visited again.

The double bed only just fitted in the room , with the wardrobe covering half of the only window. If you suffer from claustrophobia find another hotel. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. But that room made our stay uncomfortable.

We had our wedding at here on the 22nd October 2016 and it was amazing. Big thanks to Andrew, the wedding co-ordinator who did a fab job of bringing it all together and couldn't do enough to make sure it all went to plan. The food was out of this world, the best meal they have ever had said some... More

I have just had my second stay at the Rutland. A very nice mid range hotel in a great position for the delightful bars and restaurants of Broomhill with only a short stroll down into the city centre. The rooms are interesting in an unusual themed way and the staff are very helpful. The only downside are the flights of... More
