Bit of confusion when booking in as i had already booked the saturday night 1st then had to book a night earlier due to the train strikes, even after phoning customer support before i went to explain, the booking process could not pick up that i wanted 2 night on one booking. On the Sunday morning when i had booked breakfast, the ladies insisted that i had not paid for this, in the end another ladies said okay. Trying to work out the bill with them even though i had set up a pre payment arrangement was a challenge to the staff. A bit disappointing experience as this was the 1st part of my brother in laws treat for his 60th birthday. The staff always acknowledge you and were friendly in reception. computer skills a mother story.
Best Ibis in History of Accor Hotels are about people. An Ibis is an Ibis. Really? I have been staying here week on week for 5 months. Maria has put together a top class team, who can show the Novotel next door what customer service is. So, people, Maria, the best manager, with Timea, Madhu, ioanna, Tomazs, Hafiz, Gema.... And if I missed anyone or misspelled, sorry. They all go out of their way, from the smile as you walk in to best wishes as you walk out.... 6 Star service
Looked after very well Maria and staff. Excellent service and good experience. The rooms were as expected and the location of the hotel is perfect for many activities. Thanks for looking after the group
Stayed here following royal ascot, booked last minute. Staff very friendly at reception. Our room was located on 13th floor, we waited ages for the lift, lift very dodgy and would only take us to floor three and back down to ground again, had to walk up stairs to 13th floor! Standard room with comfy bed and clean however the window had no blind or curtains, therefore in the morning the room was extremely bright with sun meaning we woke very early. Good central location and typical ibis just bit tired.
Great hotel, amazing especially Timea and Mahdu, those two will go to the end of the world for you. Burnt my pizza but replaced the pizza with a fresh one with a complimentary drink which was a nice touch.👏
This is the only place in Reading I stay on a regular basis for both work and for leisure. It’s great value and is always clean, has all the utilities and has impeccable customer service. The staff go beyond the call of duty and would like to give a special mention to the team leader Tamas, who is welcoming and attentive. So I’ve only had one sub par experience in the countless times staying here. However it was for one reason or another but the way it had been handled by the staff was fantastic. My needs were met and they came up with a great resolution!! Both Tamas and his superior Maria have been a pleasure to be in touch with and honestly guys, if you’re looking to stay in central Reading. This should be your only choice! Thank you again to Tamas, Maria and the rest of the staff for making me feel comfortable and looked after. I will he staying here again.…
I have stayed here before and may have reviewed it but it deserves another assessment as Ibis have thankfully done away with the previous policy of having to check in at a machine. The staff on reception were great. Other than that, no frills, although the location is a short hop from almost everything. Like everything post-Covid though, in no way could be regarded as anything other than expensive for what you get.
I always stay here and they are really friendly and good service but I would like to mention last time I went the light doesn’t work for the toilets but didn’t bother saying anything. Otherwise they are always good and reasonable price
Had a fabulous time staying in this lovely hotel with a laid back and relaxing atmosphere. Staff were great, location was perfect and room was comfortable and welcoming, not to mention I had the best pizza ever served in the lobby! Would recommend!
Long wait to check-in. Staff apologised and were pleasant and friendly. Room not exactly sparkling, with a dirty cup, rusty toilet and discoloured wash basin. Net curtain falling off to reveal a dirty window looking straight into an office block. Just quite basic for £79 on a Saturday, but it is a good location.
