Hotel is above a Lebesese Restaurant accessible via a couple of steps in a narrow passageway. Had to fetch the key from the restaurant to book in, and the waiter booked us in while serving patrons. Place was tidy enough but not what you'd call clean. Bed was comfortable. Only 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel between two of...

We were a family of 3 in a Family Room. Had to take bags up stairs. No lift but very helpful staff who carried them up for us. Easy enough to get them down the stairs at the end of the stay. It was cosy but beds excellent, small fridge supplied and very quiet. The shower was small but quite...

Much better than I expected after having read reviews. Good location near the river and city centre. Quiet neighbourhood. Very special decoration inside the hotel but I liked it. The room was comfortable. Great to have a fridge. The bathroom was not great and not completely clean but ok. Only one small and one big towel for two people though....

The only good thing about this hotel is location, but even this can’t justify the price you pay for what you receive. To start with, we arrived to a closed check-in office. We had to go to the restaurant below the hotel and shout to get someone. The room itself was spacious enough, the small fridge was a welcome plus;...

The stay at Richmond wasn't very pleasant, as the overall standard was poor, especially bathroom and furniture. As a couple we first received only towels for one person, there was also some trouble with the way they charged money from us after booking. The restaurant downstairs is really nice, though, and the lebanese breakfast is ok.

Room 1. Avoid it. Dirty, hot, smelly (it stinks - the kitchen is right below), bits of sellotape holding wires in place, noisy fridge. I have stayed in cleaner places in the Borneo rainforest. We were unable to sleep. At 2am we decided to cut our losses and head home. We had paid in advance. I wrote a letter of...

Please be very cautious with this hotel when booking early. I booked it almost two months before my trip and got a good rate. Two weeks before my arrival I got a notification that my booking was cancelled due to the hotel's inability to deduct funds from my card. Nobody from the staff bothered to drop me an e-mail to...

Heating system is ok. The shower was dirty. No lift, you must use stairs, it is a very narrow space for the stairs. Lebanese food, healthy breakfast. You dont hear the noise from the street but you can hear everything from the rooms next to you. Good for a solo. the price is ok but I expected something cleaner.

I needed somewhere reasonably priced to stay near the centre of Oxford. I picked The Richmond Hotel off a booking site, and it turned out to be excellent for my purposes. The hotel is situated over a Lebanese restaurant, in the area of Oxford known as Jericho, which may be familiar to you from the Inspector Morse and Lewis series....
