Barely a bad word to say about this hotel. I am reasonably experienced with staying in hostels in Europe, not the UK. I stayed in a room with 4 other friends, on a room that could hold 6. There were three single bunk beds, a bathroom and a shower room to share between us. A locked room with clean bedding...

This hostel is amazing and the price is very good. It has you could ask for in the common areas of a hostel: an equipped kitchen, bar, lounge, common room, library and a restaurant. They offer breakfast for 5 pounds but I thought it was expensive and didn't try it. My room was large with individual lockers and hangers and...

Looks great when you walk in, lounge and dining area are great, food is decently priced and the fry up in the morning is okay although I've had better. Wifi only works in the lobby not the rooms. Rooms are old, worn down and tacky. Wooden bunk beds felt like they were going to break, shower looked disgusting, windows were...

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hostel. We’re sorry to hear that the rooms didn’t meet your expectations. As we are a charity, YHA as an organisation have to carefully plan how to distribute spending on refurbishing our properties and achieving our charitable objectives. We do work hard to clean rooms to the highest standards,...

A big thank you to the entire team. A very nice and a good atmosphere. People at the reception try to accommodate people according to their age and preferences which is not always possible but it works smoothly from time to time. Once again - a great place to be. Ekaterina Petrova

This is a truly international YHA, which is a bonus. Facilities are fine. We were a family group (two mums and four kids) and the kids loved it. Request a room away from a stairwell as we had noise from the stairwell through the night as groups arrived back. There wasn't anything that could be done to eliminate this as...

Hostel was clean with good sized triple bunk private rooms. Bathroom was big enough and clean, kitchen facilities very good to prepare meals and large dining area available. Lounge with tv, couches and pool table was a good space to relax. Wifi only available on ground floor but lots of comfortable seats downstairs to use it. Very good location right...

Stayed here for two nights with a large group, sharing a twin room with my boyfriend. Our room was large, clean and comfortable, with a TV and a spacious en-suite bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The common facilities such as the lounge are also lovely, I'm assuming they have been recently decorated. Breakfast was ok,...

Great location - amazing for the station! The entrance hall is spacious, with quite a few people sitting around using the services, it looked great, though we did not use it. The room was brilliant, 6 bunks (4 of my party ditched on me, so we chose whichever we wanted!) and a private bathroom. Only complaint with that is that...

Thank you very much for your review - it's great to hear that you were happy with your room and enjoyed your stay. I'll give the staff a reminder about directions to rooms - the same thing happened to me in a hotel on a recent trip, so I know how frustrating it is. I'll also shut myself in the...

Shocking experience - never in my life have I endured such hell, and paid for it. I booked via last minute.com and was charged £35 for 1 night's stay. I indicated I would pay in cash when I arrived, I also indicated on my booking form that I was disabled and had severe mobility problems so could not manage stairs,...

We're very sorry to see that you were so disappointed with your visit to YHA Oxford. As the notes with your booking stated that you would 'prefer' a ground floor room or lift access we didn't realise how important this was to you. I would implore anyone to please contact us directly to book specific rooms so that we can...
