We stayed here last night after being at a wedding locally. The place was lovely, the room (in the main building) was clean, in very good decorative order and well laid out. The staff were very friendly, professional and efficient. The food (breakfast) was great.

We stayed for 2 nights here, using it as a base to visit Oxford, Blenheim Palace and the surrounding area. The pub serves excellent food and is a nice place to eat and enjoy a drink on the sunny terrace : the breakfast was fantastic (large portions, very tasty, cooked to order and an unusually large choice of alternatives including...

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by a member of staff (Irene) who was also very helpful and booked a table for us in the restaurant later. Situated within easy distance of Oxford and just off the Oxford by pass this Pub offers a good standard of Accommodation if our room was representative and a decent breakfast. This hotel was a great find, we were 4 couples visiting Oxford for our annual weekend away. The hotel has great character and the rooms are spacious and have an individual feel, not like many modern chain hotels, a bonus for myself was the inclusion of a cafetiere and ground coffee. We ate a snack lunch and an evening meal...

A real old country pub with good food choices and friendly staff. Well recommended. The rooms are very well presented, good outdoor decking eating as well as a great restaurant and original pub bars for an atmospheric beer.

Building combines traditional and modern style with a relaxed atmosphere. Clean, well run with pleasent staff. Excellent dinner & english breakfast. Rather limited continental breakfast. Stayed two nights in annex. Nice, comfy room.

We stayed here on a Sunday night earlier in the year - it takes me some time to remember to do a review!! The accommodation was in an upstairs, outside room which was stunning. Great sized room, comfy bed, fridge, kettle and everything else you can think of. The bathroom was very contemporary but works very well built into the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Not only does the Bear and Ragged Staff serve fantastic food throughout the day, its conversion to a Country Inn is complete with the opening in December 2012 of the last five of nine rooms. The Bear is now in a position to offer a full suite of services to the discerning traveler whether on business or just looking for a home away from home for a few days. Our food ethos can be summed up very simply, local where possible, absolutely fresh, prepared in our own kitchen. The Bear's food offering can best be described as eclectic, mainly British food, prepared with loving care and attention in well equipped kitchens, beautifully presented and served by well trained floor staff. And all this with a wine list carefully selected for quality and value. ... more   less
