Spent this past weekend at the Hotel, fabulous location stunning views and so near the city centre. The rooms were clean and satisfactory mattress a little too soft for our taste but okay. What let them down was the restaurant and bar areas. There is no charm just very basic, this weekend on Saturday night there were 2 weddings and...

The hotel is comfortable and quiet. The Thames walking path is behind the hotel and provides a very pleasant access to the city along the banks of the Thames. We were in room 108, which overlooked the car park, garbage bins and was immediately above the smokers area. ( why do so many people still smoke?) The hotel staff were...

We stayed here for 1 night on the secret escapes deal. Pros: clean bedroom, helpful staff, leisure facilities, location. Cons: no air con in our room, doors in the annexe we stayed in were ridiculously loud and slammed, food was average had pretensions of being haute cuisine but wasn't. Building work was going on which did disturb us (to be...

Ideal location for sightseeing in Oxford and you have the opportunity to either walk along the river (around 10-15 mins) straight in to the centre or the main road route (around 10mins). Plenty to do and see. Staff were pleasant and helpful. My only criticism would be the room numbering layout. Took us around 10 mins to find our room...

I agree with another reviewer that the public rooms and bedrooms are tired and in need of an update. But it is the food and ineffectual service that is the real problem. There is no evidence of training of serving staff, food is poor and badly served, nothing was hot. Soup came without spoons, bread and butter. When I asked...

Stayed here for one night. I had accidentally booked a twin room But needed a double. This was quickly resolved by the helpful staff. Excellent hotel that's reasonably priced for the room and facilities. It's only a short walk to all the main attractions and restaurants.

Stayed here on business in Oxford. Really good location, and beautiful grounds leading up to the hotel. Reception staff were very helpful, and the room was very spacious and comfy. The bed was very nice. Myself and my colleague ate at the onsite restaurant and we both agreed that the service was absolutely impeccable! I was genuinely so impressed at...

We booked a trip for my husbands birthday through Secret Escapes and looked forward to a relaxing break ! At nearly £300 for two nights ( with an apparent 46%discount) we quite rightly assumed we were in for a treat ! The hotel reception bar area was functional, shabby and lacking in atmosphere. Our room was large and the bed...

Duncurin and party were attending a wedding in Oxford and chose the Four Pillars. This is a perfect location, set in nice, horse-filled surrounds, just out of the main hubbub of the city centre, yet just a few minutes’ walk away. Please note it’s a popular choice with lots of similarly minded people checking in for the weekend and the...
