The first time we've been here in summer so ate out in the garden, a pleasant tidy garden but with some uneven parts. Sitting out in the garden you couldn't have a running tab for meals and drinks. I can understand why, it would be easy to walk out without paying but a little annoying if you were expecting otherwise....

Recommend booking as always busy, inside and out. Very small bar so be patient. Staff very good though. 5/10 for our fish and chips, batter rather crisp and fish fry. Should have had the risotto! Real old, quaint pub steeped in history. Village is beautiful, full of thatched cottages. There is one of the famous worldwide Soho House in the...

Last night we took our French student to the Falkland Arms to experience a beautiful old English pub. My husband was served by a rude grumpy, bar man, possibly the landlord. Not only was he very rude, and impatient, reluctant and almost cross that we'd asked for crisp flavours, and gave short beer measure, our bill came to just over...

We had an unplanned lunchtime stop at the Falkland Arms en route to Witney and found it to be very acceptable. The furniture is somewhat old fashioned but comfortable, and the food was good. We would certainly come again if we come this way.

My family and I have been staying in the Falklands Arms every summer for several years. I am pleased to be able to report that this year was as wonderful as it's ever been. The level of service is as high as anywhere we've ever stayed - the new owners, Mel and Rob, are tremendously welcoming, friendly, helpful and efficient....

While travelling to this hotel, my wife chomped down on a sweet and lost a huge crown in her lower jaw. After a few phone calls an emergency dental appointment was arranged for the following morning. We therefore arrived and booked in with my wife in some discomfort. That evening the hotel was heaving and probably the busiest night of...

We stopped here for one night after visiting our son for his birthday in Tavistock. A lovely traditional pub in a beautiful Cotswold village.Busy with locals when we arrived. Nice room, comfortable bed. Ate in the pub that evening. Good meal, good value. Went out of their way to give us an olives and bread sharing starter. Our room was...

My second visit in four years to a great pub that connects old friends and new, and has wonderful food. The new owners are most conscientious about making sure such a historic place will be run well. Rooms are a bit tough to get to with much luggage so plan to take smaller overnight bags if you can. Amazing breakfasts...

Don't know if I visited on a bad day, my starter choice was not available and then told half way through eating my second choice starter that my main was no longer available! Four of us ate and the food we had was very ordinary, not at all up to the beautiful setting.
