Just finished our long weekend break at the Crown & Cushion Hotel in Chipping Norton. It's not a top notch 5* hotel so don't expect it. What you do get is a brilliant comfort hotel with all amenities including a swimming pool. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable, all with en-suite. The breakfasts are excellent quality and the staff can't...

A very good hotel for the price. My room seemed to have been fairly recently redecorated and was very clean. I stayed on a Friday night, and it was a bit noisy, but nothing earplugs wouldn't solve. It's an old building, and my room on the first floor was above the pub bit: I could hear chattering rather than loud...

I think that this hotel is excellent value for money and does not - considering the extremely reasonable rates -- deserve the harshness of some of the reviews here. We travelled with our 2 teenage children and both of our bedrooms (one double; one twin) were clean and spacious. Showers were great, too. There was plenty of choice at breakfast,...

have stayed here before and we were quite happy.I know Christmas is busy time of year but we were in a room with no heating except a small electric heater. Bed was rock hard and pillows flat. Carpet was worn and grubby, actually felt damp. I was not impressed. I had booked this as a special deal but didn't expect...

We had a three night stay here as a couple with 2 kids 14 & 7. We had room 40 which had a separate Tv room with a pull out sofa. Which was desperately uncomfortable as a bed. The pancake thin pillows were laughable. As a family we had very little floor space in the room(s) and we had to...

A late lunchtime meal stop after a long drive - we ate in the bar area and have to say for the money we were very impressed. There was a few locals at the bar that along with the staff made our visit very welcome. Listening to some of their conversation was so funny and we were even asked our...

No lockers in the pool area. Cold water in showers in the pool. Pool was warm though. Technically there could be an undercover walk way rather than walking through the car park. Furniture old and dated. Mould and peeling wallpaper. Shower pressure in room fine but no hot water as ''the boiler had to be refilled'' ! Whole system needs...

We booked in view of the good price and reputation. Bedroom furniture was junk chic, without the chic, don't think it wAs but smell of shake and act in corridors. We were told by another guest who had been there before to get down early for breakfast otherwise some items may not be available, .so we did, food so-so, Luke...

I didn't like this hotel at all. You have to pay up front for your room and find that it is an old tired room. The staff are rude. The owners / managers are not there. A load of Polish staff are running the place. I know of the owners and they are very shifty - Mr & Mrs Silver!
