The Fox Inn is in a truly beautiful spot and the pub itself is lovely and friendly. The lady behind the bar who checked us in was very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere in the pub was great. The room itself was lovely, big and spotlessly clean, but it just lacked a bit of finesse for the full price...

I received a voucher as a gift for a 2 night weekend stay at The Fox Inn, Great Barrington. When I enquired about booking the voucher I was told that they cannot honour the voucher as they have booked up every Saturday night until after the voucher expires. I was told I would be able to take it on a...

Iasked this website to remove this review as i feel that not even ever spoken inperson to this man having stated that he could stay after the finish date of the deal but like any holiday company, business,it would be high season and there would be a surcharge.----i think thiis is classed as the sarcasm bit!!We did not oversell this...

Pick up the Burford Walks map from Tourist information and take walk 4 and do the detour in Great Barrington to the Fox Inn. It is about 3 miles out of Burford Village but a nice walk in in about an hour. Nice old pub with good ale selection and menu as well as a welcome rest for the feet....

Ok, so the room was tastefully decorated with all the modern facitities and sported a lovely view over the River Windrush and water meadow thrown in as a bonus. And yes, our evening meal and breakfast was tasty and plentiful. I could mention that the staff were very friendly and the bar had a great village pub atmosphere with some...

We arrived at the Fox Inn half-way through a 10 mile walk ready for coffee and the opportunity to check out the pub for a meal later in the day. Although the sign outside stated “Open All Day” and “Breakfast served” our arrival at 11.00am found the bar empty. I called twice through to the kitchen where I could see...

Oh to be judged by millions over"2 cups of coffee"on a dull February day is why I LOVE this website with a passion!!!!!!!! Correct there was no one stood in the bar BEAMING smile waiting, but due to our country location, the DEATH MONTH OF February for PUBS,I have found that my non-reticence barrista style coffee bar man is generally not needed.[This...

I expected better than I got for £120 the hotel and room was clean and everything worked but the decor was tired and the mattress was worn out and uncomfortable but the food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant. So 3/5 for accommodation and 5/5 for staff and food

Food good but freezing cold as there was no heating on, just one small open fire at one end of the long bar.as. Had to eat with my coat on. The Inn is not in the village so you car. In the summer the location would be good as the garden goes down to the stream and it is picturesque....

Sorry the bar was cold for you it is not normally like that as many a satisfied warmed customer will tell you but if you look at the date it was in that extreme cold spell and i was on holiday so probably the fire did not get lit as early as when i am there

According to Expedia, The Fox is in Burford - it isn't. It's 5 miles away. So if you are looking for a cosy relaxing night after a wander around Burford, without having to drive, this isn't the place. Our fault for not researching enough - the Fox web site doesn't claim to be in Burford. Sadly though, it doesn't get...

Booked this with friends for a New Years Day lunch following a walk. Had read some of the reviews and have an natural nervousness of places that are on the tourist trail as lots of them are distinctly average as they get a constant stream of visitors and care little about repeat business. However this proved a happy exception. Firstly...

Family of four stopped here after being referred by another Pub/Inn as they had a small family room available for the wife and i and the kids. Stayed for dinner, drinks, and breakfast and enjoyed Chester, the pub's dog, company! We called while in route from York and were fortunate to have the family room available. Room was fine for...
