We booked in for 3 nights to attend a family wedding nearby. Susan, the owner runs a very well established hotel providing an excellent service - rooms and dining, with nothing too much trouble. Excellent Covid 19 protocols in place throughout the hotel whilst still providing an excellent service under extremely difficult circumstances. An excellent breakfast with a wide choice of options all served at your table. This is an independent hotel and I would recommend a stay here, without hesitation.

All measures were in place to make this a very safe experience, both in terms of the current pandemic and for me as a young woman travelling alone. A super location too with a few good options for eating out.

Over the past 11 years I have stayed at the Poplars numerous times as it is very convenient to visit my family who live in the village. I have never been disappointed or had any problems. The rooms are well appointed and very clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is always plentiful and delicious with lots of choice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in this area.
