Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An hour before check in (we had travelled 3 hours for a show tomorrow) we had a call from a man to say the booking had been double booked due to a wedding. Although I booked this as part of my husband's birthday gift in February, we only got an hour notice of cancellation on their behalf. We had no other option and had to stop at a service station with two children, to sleep in the car. The man apologised but when I told him we had a table booked at 6 to celebrate my husband's birthday he just said ok I'll cancel that too. No sympathy, not remorse. I was shocked and unable to talk. Very upsetting experience after booking with booking. Com. I will not use this to book hotels again. The least the hotel could have done, in my opinion, is still welcome us for a meal and offer a free drink, we feel totally let down.

Nice location. Food was decent but the room is pretty average and very small. Not really value for money. Not having fans or air con is really poor as even travel lodges have fans! I will not stay here again and there are plenty of nicer gastro pubs then this around in Northamptonshire. I found the service in the restaurant lacking and my food was Luke warm.

We checked in but left 3 hours later, by which time I was almost in tears due to the trains thundering by every ten minutes or so. So much for a quiet celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. Our bedroom window was fogged up as the seal had gone, and I really don’t know how this room was ever rated superior. I don’t know if the food was good, because we left to find another hotel. Honestly I have stayed at the end of the runway at Heathrow and had less noise! There’s a review on here which says you couldn’t notice the trains inside the hotel but this really is not accurate unless you are deaf. So disappointed and out of pocket £99.

Not as good as it used to be! 6 of us went for Sunday roast today. It was very average. Potatoes were rock hard and the gravy was so salty too! Cauliflower cheese was not great at all!! Then the cheeseboard was very disappointing with very old cheese. Shame as we’ve not been in a couple of years and it’s always been so lovely! Maybe just a bad day?

we found that we enjoyed our stay at the Walnut Tree Inn and would certainly recommend this friendly inn. The food available on the evening menu plus the full English breakfast was first class. Staff where very pleasant and went out of their way to provide a friendly atmosphere. Would certainly stay again

Had a lovely over night stay. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel was spotless! The food was lovely and they had a good selection of drinks to choose from. There was slight train noise but it didn’t spoil the stay or my sleep. I’d definitely come back again!

Had a very enjoyable family gathering where we experienced a lovely large calm decor bedroom and bathroom, good food at dinner - steak cooked to order - despite there being another party. Ample parking. Highly recommended. PS Kitchen equipment noise from below was at times very loud room and the reply was slightly off-hand..

I recently stayed at the Walnut Tree Inn, following a Birthday celebration at the same venue. The Inn is in a quiet countryside location and there is parking at the front and rear. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bar and dining services were excellent. My room was quiet, comfortable - and absolutely spotless. Highly recommended!!

Lovely venue within 10 minutes walk from the Grand Union canal, serving excellent food by very attentive staff. Their Sunday menu is extensive to the point you're spoilt for choice. Would definitely recommend to friends and family............

We stayed at the Walnut Tree Inn on Saturday and Sunday. We spent the days at Silverstone Circuit. We were allowed to arrive early Saturday and park at the Inn. We had a wonderful dinner both Saturday and Sunday evening. The manager and Chrissy were so helpful and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast on Monday morning was wonderful. We both had a full English but there are other options too. The room was very comfortable. Extremely clean. Nice big bathroom with a great shower. Will definitely stay again.
