After reading reviews of No. 21 York we decided to give it a go. We are so pleased we did. The location is fabulous, just a short walk into the city centre along the river or through the park. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was gorgeous, with a wide range of local produce,...

We really enjoyed our stay, our room was lovely with a comfortable king size bed. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. All our needs were catered for, in particular delicious vegan breakfasts. We will be back next year. Thank you so much.

Excellent welcome. Felt at home straight away. Some super tourist advice was shared too. Was wonderful to wake up to the smell of homemade bread baking for breakfast; even better to enjoy is with some wonderful poached eggs a couple of hours later. Highly recommend the property.

Myself and my husband have stayed in York many times in that past, staying in the same hotel for many years- which seized business last year it was time to look at 'new' places to stay. No 21 came with excellent reviews, so we thought we would give it a try. We were blown away, from arrival Simon and his...

Absolutely fabulous place to stay! Thanks for all the tips for the very many sites of interest and eateries/pubs in easy walking distance. Best ever breakfast in a BnB coupled with comfy bed in a private ensuite room. We will stay longer next time! 😀

We had a lovely stay in a superior double en-suite room and it was great. We got such a warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Simon made us feel extra special. The home cooked, locally sourced breakfast was amazing. The room was fresh smelling & clean with home cooked cookies as a welcome! Great location too! I would really...

We stayed for four nights in mid-October 2016. Very friendly, excellent staff, that are happy to cater to your needs. Wonderful breakfast choices and just a nice walking distance to the city walls at Bootham Bar. Very clean and well maintained rooms. We hope to be back again at some point in the future. There is so much to do...

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, few minutes walk to gardens and centre. Can't fault the location. Clean, complimentary bottled water, snack, hot drinks and fresh milk in a glass bottle all in a small quiet fridge. HD TV. We had the attic room facing the road, got to be at a level of fitness for those stairs and I'm in my...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
No. 21 York is a multi award winning Bed & Breakfast, offering a choice of nine clean & comfortable rooms, a warm and homely welcome as well as a great Yorkshire breakfast - all within a stone's throw of York City Centre. Built circa 1890, the B&B is a Victorian Terrace that has a history of offering accommodation and breakfast to guests since 1966, we will continue in this tradition of offering homely hospitality in some of the finest bed and breakfast accommodation in York. Our ethos is that we support our local & we are fiercely proud of our local Yorkshire produce, supplies & furnishings. Where possible, everything we do is a celebration of York and Yorkshire. York happened to us by happy coincidence & we love York and the surrounding countryside and it's a pleasure for us to share our "local" knowledge of what's on offer in our amazing city and - as it is fondly known - "God's own county" as well as how to get around & about. We look forward to welcoming you to our home & hope to see you sometime soon. ... more   less
