I Stayed at Goldsmith's for three days in the room on the top floor. It was a very nice stay. There are surprisingly very few real hotels in York so Bed and Breakfast is the way to go. It might seem far afield by looking at it on a map but in reality its one of closest and most convenient...

Peaceful but central location, very close to the historic heart of the city. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast excellent.

Stayed at Goldsmiths for two nights for wedding anniversary weekend in York and was very pleased with the choice we had made. Very very quiet location on 5-10 mins walk to city centre either along the riverside or (recommended) via the museum gardens. Met by George, very friendly, on arrival who quickly organised parking for us right outside the house...

Was looking for a place at the last minute in York and a friend suggested Goldsmiths. Its a nice little family run place, clean, with great hosts. It's a short walk across the bridge from the train station and another short walk down the river to downtown. The breakfast was great, the internet was free and worked, and there was...

From their website I see that it's possible to book direct and get a room for £29 at present. That represents very good value for money. Unfortunately, I booked a 4 star "mystery hotel" through Hotwire, at a "heavily discounted hot rate" of £35 per night. To liken this pretty standard B&B to a 4 star hotel, and all the...

Lovely welcome and excellent stay, would highly recommend! Very clean room and high quality breakfast, close to city centre, all in all great value for money, we would definately stay again. the only complaint i would have is room 2 is alittle noisy at times as next to laundry room but this did not spoil our lovely time here.

I work in a hotel myself so I expect a lot. The goldsmiths offered it all to myself and my patents who stayed on a leisure weekend to York. We absolutely love York and this B&B for me was one of the highlights of our stay. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom huge. Great facilities and most of...

On the morning we were due to arrive my wife rang to advise we may be a little late arriving only to be told the reservation had been cancelled and the hotel was fully booked....
