A great location to stay to explore the lovely city of York and a welcome return after a great day out to Whitby. Rooms are ideal with a lovely continental breakfast delivered to your room! Friendly, knowledgeable staff who gave some great tips on things to do on our stay. Would definitely return!

Super B & B close to city centre. Lovely and clean, rooms beautifully decorated. With private parking outside the front door. Continental Breakfast brought to the room each morning was fresh and plentiful. Lovely weekend, will definitely be returning.

Such a friendly, welcoming and lovely place to stay. A real personal touch you just don't find with chain hotels. York is such a beautiful city and this fantastic B&B is a perfect pairing within. From the incredibly helpful and welcoming owners, to the quiet yet convenient location to the city centre, as well as a refreshing change to a...

This was fine for a one night stay, as our ground floor room was compact to say the least, making it hard for us both to walk around the room at once. We agreed that a longer stay would be frustrating. The lack of working wifi was also inconvenient, though a note in our room on arrival explained that super...

Had a lovely stay at Holmlea, breakfast delivered to the room each morning with a happy smiley lady. Rooms were lovely, nice comfortable bed and clean en-suite, spotless, a nice fresh deco too. Kettle, tea, biscuits etc in the room. Free parking which is a bonus in York! Roughly 12 mins walk to the river passing some lovely little shops...

Just came back from a 1 night stay at Holmlea Guest House. It's a lovely little B&B about a 15 minute walk away from York centre. Free parking right outside was really handy too! We stayed in room 5 which was small but perfect for a night or two. There was plenty of complimentary tea and coffee and the TV...

We had a family room with 3 beds and a small en-suite. The beds were comfortable, the TV worked, the breakfast was fine. It was really good value and a lot of thought had clearly gone into presentation of the room and breakfast. My Iranian friend was impressed with the cleanliness of it all and we were well set up...

Thank-you so much for taking the time to post your lovely review. How wonderful that your friend's experience was a positive one. I hope you will both come and stay again in the very near future. I have taken your comments on board and and will look into fitting a shelf in the shower if we deem it hygienic to...

From the minute I stepped onto the stunning tiled pathway and saw the spring floral wreath on the front door I knew this was going to be a gem and I wasn't wrong, with the lovely, welcoming and helpful hosts (and trust me, I've met many who don't fill that remit). I was offered a choice of two very pretty...

Free parking if you book direct, about 15 minutes walk into York, breakfast is brought to you room you can choose the time, only downside is narrow stairs, we were in the attic so 2 loads of stairs, toilet has a 'sani box' thing attached so if neighbours go to the toilet at 3am can wake you up, lovely views...

Thank-you for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate it. Sorry about the stairs, I'm afraid it's a disadvantage to an old house but the views make up for it. We are in the process of addressing our WiFi issues in the building so hopefully by the time you return we will have sorted it out. Thank-you for...

What a lovely clean immaculate Guest House and such a lovely well presented surprise breakfast. We could not have chosen better. Just round the corner from my wife's Son's home. Will definitely recommend to our friends and family. Guarantee we will be revisiting.
