Stayed at Grays Court for the weekend attending a family members wedding. Wonderful historic building with so much character. The wedding was beautiful especially in the surroundings of the hotel. The staff were excellent always there to accommodate & made sure we were happy guests. Staff were also fantastic with the children who were young, very active & liked to...

We stayed at Gray's Court for two nights in January, having read The Telegraph's review. The hotel has a unique history and is brilliantly located within the Minster quarter of York. It has lovely views of the local area and the restaurant has a brilliant garden view that includes a small portion of the York Wall. Breakfast is exceptional and...

The Grays Court Hotel is set in a wonderful location. It is very atmospheric and the history of the place is incredible. It is situated near the famous Shambles and Cathedral is a great location for exploring York. The hotel is beautifully decorated to an exceptionally high standard and is an eclectic mix of contemporary photographic pictures, historic decor and...

Great location. Very central but still very quiet. We had the Cliff Room which was quite small but more than adequate for the weekend. Lovely breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting York.

We were recommended to this hotel by someone who lives in York and uses its bar and restaurant. So glad we took their suggestion! This hotel is centuries old, with a long and fascinating history. It's tucked away out of sight, abutting the city wall - the city wall is their garden wall (and what a garden!). At the eastern...

We tried to book this hotel for a long weekend at the end of July 2017 in January. The on-line booking facility offered us an acceptable room, took all our credit card details and issued an acknowledgement and reservation number. 5 hours later we get an email saying there had been a problem with their on-line booking system and we...

I'm disappointed to read this review, as I immediately made the effort to address your concerns personally - see email below: 'However, I need to let you know that I do not ever play the system as you describe it. We have a wedding on that weekend, and this was booked over a year ago. We also have a wedding...

We stayed recently for a 3 day holiday in York. We could not have picked a beter place. The hotel is a lovely old place with lots of character. The staff are lovely and look after you well. Our room was nice but not quite up to the price charged. The restaurant was also excellent with breakfast a real treat....

Just wanted to say what a fantastic night we had on New Years Eve. The building is stunning and is about as close as you can get to the Minister and the city walls. Our room (Cumberland) was fantastic and we both thoroughly enjoyed the seven course taster menu. Every member of staff were both courteous and helpful and we...

Absolutely lovely visit. This was a New Years treat for us, being common as muck our hotels are more often Brittania than botique! Yet we were made to feel very welcome. Service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing. The manager on duty (I asked then forgot his name- apologies!) could not have been more warm and helpful despite clearly...
