Stayed at this ACCOMODATION for a two night break. We had a family room with a large bathroom on the second floor. Not a problem for us but the stairs were quite steep so not suitable for the less able. Although the location is out of the town centre we did not find this a problem as it only took...

Brilliant hotel with a great breakfast and the waitress was extremely efficient. Staff were very friendly, helpful throughout our stay. They went out of their way to make our dog welcome with water bowl treats, etc. We would not hesitate to book again.

What a fantastic venue, I adore the stained glass window on the stairs. The bedroom and bed so romantic (four poster) flowers and chocolates had been put in the room. The breakfast is freshly cooked and lots of choice. This is a family run business.

This is a very well run hotel and everything is of good quality and in perfect decorative order. It has been lovingly run by the same couple for around 25 years and they go out of their way to give personal service. There is a little bar and a very comfortable sitting room opposite. The breakfast was excellent with plenty...

WOW what a beautiful hotel. Full of original features, it has a window half way up the stair case like I've never seen before. The owners are quirky and eccentric. The rooms are decorated sensitively to the age of the building but with modern bright clean en-suits. The rooms and rest of the hotel is very clean. Breakfast is served...

Stayed for a weekend just after Christmas - such a nice building - with bags of character- Room was perfect- plenty of space, beautiful bed and the world's best shower! Parking on site was a little tight - lucky we brought our smaller car! But was secure and safe and we were welcome to leave the car even after checking...

This was our second 2-night stay at Ascot House, primarily on this occasion to visit York's Christmas market and take a guided tour of the impressive and majestic Minster. This guest house, situated about a 15 minute walk from the city centre, is very clean and comfortable. Our room had a large four-poster bed but we both found the quality...

Brought my NZ parents and sister to experience a proper British BnB. Fantastic BnB with great breakfast and stunning rooms. The owners have a lot of knowledge on where to go in York. Exactly how it should be done. Thank you
