Stayed for one night. All in all a bit disappointing. The facilities were okay however not very clean as there were marks on the wall and mirror the hotel is half way through some work being done which wasn't advertised. The bathroom had no ventilation and chipped paint and signs of mould on the ceiling. The hotel is advertised as...

My husband and I stayed at the Jorvik 2 nights ago and I have to say we were appalled by the standard of the room. From the website pictures the rooms look stunning and this was most certainly not what we got. We booked a last minute deal and thought the hotel looked really modern and cool. However, the room...

We stayed here at the weekend and I've never been so disappointed in my life. The room was horrendous. The hotel is mid refurbishment and we were in the part that has not been touched since the 1980's!. The hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment. As you walk through reception, which has been refurbished and go further back...

After looking at the management pictures of the hotel I thought what a lovely looking place so for the first time ever I booked without checking other reviews and boy did we pay for it. On arrival we were told that we were to early at 12.00pm and that our room wouldn't be ready until at least 3.00pm so we...

Overall quite dissapointed with my stay. The hotel is in a good location with some nice views and near the river. However its very run down despite what the pictures show. Our room #19 had some good fixtures but overall very dated old beds, dressers and lacked any feel other than a place to sleep. There is no wifi in...

Positives first: great location, reception area is contemporary and light, staff are friendly.... So as my title suggests we did not sleep well here at all, we were put in room number 6 (a tired, dated room with a hole in the interior door). Our room was on the ground floor facing onto the street. Both my fiancé and I...

Very good location for visiting York with a handy car park two minutes away. The hotel looks very smart as you go in and the staff are friendly. The decoration goes down hill after the reception area, however there is obviously renovations going on so I assume that the whole place is getting a facelift. We were in one of...

I read all the reviews, v.positive, images on booking .com all good. Arrived -entrance looks as in photos. Then walking down a corridor, chipped, unkempt (renovations are apparently happening, but ....) My room last in the building. The heat was belting out, tropical but the window was opened...smelt dampish.Staff had to go and get a hand held air conditioning set, which...

Stayed at the Jorvik for 2 nights with my partner. Location is brilliant for a quick walk right into the centre. The hotel is also close to a lovely park and the canal. York was a beautiful city and we will return for sure. We probably wouldn't choose the Jorvik again. The entrance is lovely and inviting and the staff...
