Comfortable and clean. The staff where very friendly. The provided Breakfast was tasty to. The location is within 15Min walk from the old town. Very easy walk from the train station as well. The small pub was nice to drop down for a pint.

Myself and my wife stayed here for three nights. The rooms were well appointed and have all you need. Beds comfy and room temp spot on. The breakfast was amazing as was the coffee in the bar. Nice family feel to the hotel with personal touches throughout. Definitely recommend and will definitely use again when in York, well done

The Hotel is indeed very English: the decor, the carpets, the furniture, the fireplace in a hall, the downstair pub, the rooms ... all convey the impression of having fallen into an English sit-com set in the past. Rooms are small (that's very English again), but very clean and super comfortable. Position is perfect for visiting the historical town of... More

I was up in York for two nights and this hotel was superbly placed for everything my girlfriend and I needed. It has parking (either behind the hotel or on the road near by) which is brilliant for a hotel in the city. It is within a 10 minute walk of York Minster and The Shambles which is a great... More

The 26th of October was my birthday (yesterday), and my best'est wanted to give me a special something for my birthday, and this short stay was my present from her. Parking at the rear of the hotel initially looked a little difficult, but the manager moved his van from the little cottage they own at the rear to let me... More

My wife and I stayed here just for one night and have no complaints whatsoever, it was clean, had friendly, helpful staff, breakfast was lovely, and just a ten minute walk into town. We'll be staying here again, every time we visit York.
