If you like sleeping in an ashtray, this is your place. Staff/Owners allow smoking on the premises after hours ('lock-in') and the smoke is funnelled up the stairs and through the room. EVERYTHING stank of smoke, pillows, blanket, carpet, bed.

20 minute walk along the long straight road to bootham gate then down past the minster then right at the minster square/street that leads to the shambles short walk across the bridge on river to city walls.
