After a tiring walk around the town centre we ambled up the main drag and came across this charming little pub obviously steeped in history. As it had passed lunchtime we needed to eat something so we ordered fish and chips. What a fabulous meal......More

We had an excellent day out to Whitby Regatta, followed by a very good meal at the Duke Of York. The service was very good & the view over the harbour was excellent Couldn't fault the eating place at all.

A quiet comfortable room overlooking the Whitby harbor, located below the pub and down by the water, very near the foot of the steps leading up to Whitby Abbey, this was a welcome find. I'd happily stay there again.

I can't see any reason why you couldn't book a table for a meal they are friendly enough. It does get very busy though so check early. Not sure about Christmas maybe give them a ring and check?
