We stayed in a Hoseasons cottage - no.22 at Captain Cook's Haven, during October half term (2016). Firstly, I asked Hoseasons for the addressed of the resort via email and didn't hear back from them until half way through our holiday (not helpful). Please note, we received no correspondence from Hoseasons detailing the resorts address, after booking - which was...

Reception: Easy quick check in. Not overly friendly but helpful (but see note below). Accommodation: First, the step leading into the property needs attention. It is very shallow with a large overhang (see picture). My wife, unsighted by the bag she was carrying in on arrival tripped and fell. She recently had a replacement hip operation and it could have...

Captain Cook's Haven is in a wonderful location overlooking the river Esk, with steam trains passing by, and within a 20 minute walk of Whitby. The grounds are well kept and the staff were welcoming on our arrival. Unfortunately, our cottage, number 41 was rather disappointing. It was looking rather tired and in need of refurbishment in some places. There...

Bit of a distance from the centre of town but the cottages are well presented and you are right by the river with a view of the NYMR steam trains going past . Pool is nice and staff are helpful. We've been here a few times now and loved it every time. If you want to walk into town the...

Lovely cottage, lovely area. Everything you need and very comfortable. Very pleased we gave it a try and will go again. Our grandson loved the crabbing at the river behind the cottage! Just booked to spend another week here next year. My family liked it so much! Four of us stayed in Endeavour Cottages this year but are going to...

As a family we have been coming to Captain Cooks Haven for around 5 years. We have a dog, so we are limited to the Adventure Cottages, but we have never been disappointed. Staff have always been helpful and the small reception has plenty of local info available. Should you want to use the indoor pool a £5.00 deposit is...

We stayed in no 13, which was at the bottom of the site. The setting is beautiful, with great views. As rail enthusiasts, my party loved being able to open the front door and see the steam trail chuffing past regularly. We arrived to find a half pint of milk in the fridge which was a lovely gesture as we...

3rd year we have been but the last. 1st year was great. Last year there was a deterioration in the cleaning, but this year... oh my! The rug in living room and all carpets show insufficient cleaning routine. Black thick grime on bathroom wall and a ring round the bath. Mouldy shower curtain. Rice and salt present on dining table....

This lady and her family still in No. 40. Arrived Sat 2.0'clock. Reported cleaning issues on Monday afternoon. Did not need to spend any of her own time cleaning, she refused a re-clean. Refused fixing of ' loose' toilet seat and new shower curtain until today, which has now been done. Lady admitted to staff that she does have issues...

We were here for a family holiday for one week. The location is beautiful the walk into Whitby on the cinder track is easy and takes about 20 mins. The pool is small I think a wide angled lens was used in the picture and there is also no life guard, however our girls went most days for about an...
