This is the second year we have spent in Whitby for New Years Eve.Last years accommodation was a little bit cheaper (but not much) but it was literally somewhere to sleep as it wasn't very desirable! This year however at Bagdale Hall it was a memorable experience. We stayed in the Lodge which was just up the road from the...

Stayed here for one night and loved it, can't think of anything wrong with the place everything was spot on from checking in to checking out. The staff were very friendly the breakfast on a morning was great all top quailty food. My room was massive with very comfortable four poster, slept like a log, the shower was really powerful...

Lovely to hear you had a great stay and everything was to your liking. Sounds like you had one of the big four poster suite rooms which are amazing. I hope you are recommending us to everyone and make sure you return soon.

Clean and comfy rooms in a quiet spot - ample parking. Bit pricier than some accommodation in Whitby (above pubs etc) but probably quieter. Really handy for shops and sea front. Breakfast was nice and fresh

Bagdale Lodge is exactly as above but you say pricier than other accommodation, but do they offer free wifi, car parking, have a bar and restaurant? Hopefully see you again soon.

we all descended on The Old Hall to celebrate our mothers 80th birthday; mainly because it is her favorite restaurant but also as it is a wonderfully evocative setting, there is a fantastic atmosphere, great food and a thoroughly good welcome from Alison and Mike. There were approx 22 for the meal and the vast majority of us stayed in...

Glad your mother and the rest of the party had a lovely meal and stay. We look forward to the big 90th birthday party. I’m sure before then there must be a big birthday party between you so we might see you sooner than we think.

We stayed in Room 4 in The Hall for 1 night on 29th October 2014. This was a special treat for us and our 10 year old grand-daughter who has had a very tough time lately and being 'mad on Tudor history' we decided to splash out a bit to cheer her up. The hotel were most accommodating in organising...

It’s so nice to hear you had a great stay and specially a lovely treat for your grand-daughter. Bagdale Hall built in 1516 with so much history and character in a building. Get saving and we will hopefully see you again soon.

I can't say enough, we were looking for a historic hotel with a haunted past to complete our Halloween fun. We found all that and more at Bagdale Hall. The staff was superb and was able to upgrade us to room one. We did hear footsteps, or someone walking up and down the stairs at 3 am, did tell our...

The ghost of Bagdale paid you a visit maybe, who knows what really happened. Looks like you’re going to have to come again and do some more ghost hunting. A hotel filled with history all boils down to whether you’re a believer or none believer. We do hope to see you again soon.

Stayed for three nights in October on the run up to halloween and goth weekend. Was very pleased with our room in the lodge (room 26) the room was extremely clean with a very nice modern bathroom (no bath) the shower was fabulous, powerful and plenty of hot water, towels changed daily, the bedroom was nice too, comfy beds and...

We stayed for two nights in early September and it was a very lovely experience. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to places we wanted to go. We stayed in room 2, and I must say that it has been recommended by other reviewers for a good reason! It was large and comfortable and I simply loved...

Room 2 the most liked room at Bagdale Hall. Lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay and the character of the building lived up to its expectations. Not long till our 500 year anniversary, hope to see you soon.

Bagdale is very centrally located. Close to the town and attractions. We didn't eat here other than breakfast (which was very good). Rooms in the Lodge are very small and probably not worth the £110 rate for B&B. The bar is limited in selection and could do with work and attention. Next time we would like to experience the Old...

Thank you for you review. Bagdale Lodge is a bargain at that price and our bar maybe small but I’m not sure what work and attention is needed, we are a building from 1516 and we have to keep everything within character. Good review and hope you return soon.
