Situated a couple of 100 metres from the clifftop this hotel is well placed for walking and visiting the town though is a steep walk downwards. Hotel old fashioned in style only, all decor was fresh and clean. Breakfast was waitress service, didn't even need to get my own orange juice, and we'll cooked.

Just arrived back after a wonderful weekend at the Saxonville Hotel celebrating my sixtieth birthday with family and friends. The rooms were very clean, the staff were all very friendly and efficient, the breakfast excellent and plentiful. Private parking and a lovely walk into Whitby. It should be awarded more than three stars.

Stayed her for a few days with family. Well worth the money. We were booked into a deluxe room, the room was big with a couple of nice little extras. The breakfast was cooked fresh, which made a nice change from a buffet style. What can I say about the staff without sounding over the top, they were all friendly... More

Stayed here while working nearby and wasn't disappointed at all. At first glance it might seem a bit old fashioned and stuffy but the atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed and the staff are really warm and friendly. The room was nice though the bed was on the small side, breakfast and dinner were excellent and it was nice to see diners... More

We arrived for a get together with friends for a weekend break. Our room was a family room and was spacious for the two of us. There is no lift tour second floor room and the stairs are steep and narrow so if you have mobility issues I would suggest you ask for one of the ground floor or first... More

The hotel was situated in a good location near to the North Parade, and the Pavilion. Ideally suited to being close enough to the town centre to be walkable however far enough out so that you can park or not be affected by nighttime noise. All the staff there were very helpful, giving information of the area and the hotel... More

A friend and I visited this hotel 13/14/15 Oct 2016. On arrival we thought it was a touch old fashioned, once settled in we realised it was very English, traditional, immaculate and very friendly. Car parking provided, small charge but great advantage in Whitby. The breakfast was outstanding. White linen tablecloths and napkins, waitress service, all of whom were extremely attentive... More
