We went as 4 couples so we almost had the whole place to ourselves. The place is adorable and spotless. Hidden away up a little cobbled street but in the heart of Whitby at the same time. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. We are already arranging to book again for next year. Will be recommending to all our...

We have just spent 2 days in Whitby staying at The Shepherds purse. The room we stayed in was room 3 which has a brass captains bed. The room was ensuite and had everything we needed . The bed linen was clean and the owners on hand either in person or phone. The hotel is up one of the many...

Our second stay at The Shepherds Purse and it certainly won't be our last. We have stayed in 3 rooms from the smallest to the largest and all offer comfort, charm and attention to detail. The owners are on site every day and are always friendly and helpful doing whatever they can to improve your stay. The rooms are in...

Well where to start. Arrived tea time on Friday night. Was greeted by one of the owners who helped us with our bags and showed us to our room (room 5). The lamps were all lit and the heating on that added to the already delightful cosy feel. We were pleased to have fine weather so enjoyed a relaxing glass...

We were recommended this little haven, it was gorgeous, we had room 4 which is classed as a small room, but was breathtaking and beautiful. The finish to the room was perfect, from the little touches of needles and thread to coffee making facilities. The only downside was they don't cater for breakfast but there are many little café to...

This is the perfect place to stay for anyone visiting Whitby. The location is right in the centre of the old town in the middle of all the shops and bars. Unlike the other side of the harbour you have no steep streets to have to climb. The room we had was exactly as described and was spotless. The room...

This is a boutique hotel that is family run. I obtained a good weekend deal for £100/night for the Dove's Nest suite: big; long lounge plus a room with a slipper bath and a separate bedroom . Overall a romantic spot in a good location. No breakfast provided but not an issue as many spots exist for brunch or breakfast...

We are so sorry that you had such trouble parking , Church Street Car Park has been undergoing serious work due to the sewers that run underneath , If you would like us to write to scarborough council on your behalf we will be happy to try and assist you on getting a refund on the 2 parking tickets. We stayed at the Shepard's Purse Summer last year and we absolutely loved it! We arrived slightly late, so we rang who we think was the owner, who was more than happy to help us find the quaint little place over the phone and explain that our key would be in the door waiting for us. We stepped inside to...
