This is the perfect place to stay for anyone visiting Whitby. The location is right in the centre of the old town in the middle of all the shops and bars. Unlike the other side of the harbour you have no steep streets to have to climb. The room we had was exactly as described and was spotless. The room...

This is a boutique hotel that is family run. I obtained a good weekend deal for £100/night for the Dove's Nest suite: big; long lounge plus a room with a slipper bath and a separate bedroom . Overall a romantic spot in a good location. No breakfast provided but not an issue as many spots exist for brunch or breakfast...

We are so sorry that you had such trouble parking , Church Street Car Park has been undergoing serious work due to the sewers that run underneath , If you would like us to write to scarborough council on your behalf we will be happy to try and assist you on getting a refund on the 2 parking tickets. We stayed at the Shepard's Purse Summer last year and we absolutely loved it! We arrived slightly late, so we rang who we think was the owner, who was more than happy to help us find the quaint little place over the phone and explain that our key would be in the door waiting for us. We stepped inside to...

We have just returned from the Shepherds purse after staying for the weekend. We stayed in room 5. The room was small but beautifully presented with en suite bathroom and a lovely balcony which looks out over a pretty courtyard. It's secluded but in the heart of lots of shops, bars, restaurants and pubs a great base. The owners were...

We came to the shepherds purse and stayed in room 5 for 2 nights. We arrived very late but that was no issue in terms of access. No fuss and no bother. Beautiful room and a very comfortable bed. Would highly recommend and we would definitely stay again.

We were five couples mid forties upwards on a weekend trip to Whitby sampling the food and drink that this quaint place has on offer. We booked five of the six rooms in the shepherds purse which was a master stroke as we enjoyed each others company throughout the whole weekend as all the rooms led out to or overlooked...

Stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. The location is perfect. Due to the rooms being set back off of the main street through an archway and courtyard you really can't hear a thing. And then within 30 seconds of leaving your room you are back in the main pedestrian area of Church St. Perfect. Check in with Kim...

Came to Whitby for the day with my wife and decided to stay overnight at the last minute. After a quick visit on late rooms we found this little gem. We didn't book through late rooms as the phone signal was poor so we just decided to find the shepherds purse and see if they had any rooms free. On...

Lovely rooms, extremely friendly and accomodating staff and a perfect location too. Stayed here with my girlfriend and would definitely recommend The Shepherd's Purse to anyone thinking of staying in Whitby and will be staying here again in the not too distant future.
