Only stopped one night but an amazing location. Walking up the famous 199 steps luckily went towards working off all the calories of fish and chips we consumed!! Had trouble with our car but a very friendly helpful guy on the front desk helped us by using his jump leads. Would love to return

What a delightful short stay at YHA Whitby combining volunteering and walking. The building is really something special even with it's little areas of aged wear and tear. Arriving in the dark to wake to the most awesome view down to the town, pier and port areas from one window and The Abbey from the other bay window was a...

YHA is located right next to Whitby Abbey. Its a fantastic location at the top of the steps into town (about 5 minutes). Rooms are clean and comfortable with fantastic views across Whitbt and the Abbey. Getting into Whitby is easy and even better you can reward yourself with a beer on descending/ascending the stairs at either of the two...

I stayed here for just over a week, and would gladly stay again. Situated between the Abbey and Church, it has stunning views over Whitby. Has good tv room, library and plenty of places to relax. Staff are friendly and helpful. Big self catering kitchen and laundry facilities, however there is only one washing machine, which was out of order...

Thank you for your wonderful review. Glad you enjoyed all the great amenities within the hostel. We can only apologise regarding the washing machine, unfortunately these things happen and we had it repaired as promptly as we could. We hope to see you again

I and 3 friends had a 4 day break over Christmas at this lovely hostel. Parked outside easily. Quickly signed in. We were in a 6 berth en suite room. Plenty of room, clean and warm. The only slight problem was the night light which was on all the time. Self catering kitchen had all that was required. Had Christmas...

We came to explore the town where Bram Stoker imagined the scenes for Dracula. The hostel has a great view of the town and is super accessable. The garden and the view of the Abbey are spectacular. Amazing location.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so privileged to have the location that we do for our hostel and its lovely to see that you appreciated it during your stay. My stay in this hostel was one of my favourites. The hostel is the old Abbey house which has been converted very well and is full of character, as well as information about the house and the site. The hostel is situated on top of the cliff on one side of the harbour, which means beautiful views but also 199...

Fantastic YHA for a large group. There were 23 of us, comprising of 6 families of which all had family rooms with ensuite. We couldn't of chosen a better place to stay as the children loved exploring the mansion. The location was fantastic, next to the abbey and you could see fireworks being set off all around Whitby which was...

Our first time in a youth hostel and we were really impressed. The bedroom was huge - had the one with 3 bunk beds which looked over whitby. The room was clean, beds comfy and great warm shower. The lounges were comfy, the kids loved the football table in the games room and the breakfast was yummy. We will definitely...
