Has to be the worst car park in Norwich for such a popular restaurant. We were nearly late to eat after spending nearly 15 minutes trying to park. Wen we finally got in the bar was understaffed for a Friday night for the amount of people there. All that aside when we sat down and ate the waiting staff made... More

We stayed Friday 18 November, ideal location for shopping. We have stayed before and like our last visit the staff were great and food very good. However this time the standard off the room was not as good in particular the bed, a wooden slat bed with a poor mattress. Not what we would expect for the price , plus... More

Quirky but pleasing retro decor in the large room. Easy access but not far from the centre of town. Excellent breakfast and good service, as there had been in the bar the previous evening. The room was a little cool when we walked in but soon warmed up, the bathroom was cold. We never got the hang of the electric... More

Went here for lunch yesterday. No where to park, car park full, but I was warned to expect that by friends. Lovely venue and very friendly staff. Unfortunately, as we told the waitress the bread was stale. Her reply was that she wished she told us sooner and that was that. Still the bread dipped in the soup was better... More

The Georgian Town House was recommended to me by my conference hosts (I was attending a food science conference at John Innes Centre on Food Bioactives & Health) and I was not disappointed. From the first impression as I walked in, the dinning area, my room, the garden. All was delightful, and very tasteful. The staff were extremely helpful and... More

Whether staying over or just dining in, this is definitely worth a stop! The menu offers fresh, innovative dishes, the staff is welcoming and attentive, and the rooms are cozy, well-appointed havens in which to relax. And love the retro vibe!

Had a wonderful stay food and staff excellent, rooms on the whole seemed excellent although the one we had Room 7 was outside and was on the main extremely comfortable but was situated near the boilers and was very noisy at night and we had to be moved late at night which was done very professionally and swiftly. If we'd... More

Lovely atmosphere created in the entire hotel with the retro feel they have created, from the fantastic designed light above the reception area to the designs of the room. Arrived late but greeted with friendly and happy service, ate in the bar (more about the food in a sec). The hotel is fantastically situated and we stayed in room 6... More

Thank you to the Georgian Townhouse, what a lovely room! The staff were very accommodating and helpful, all the amenities were in our room, a lovely selection of local snacks and drinks and a yummy breakfast included! We had a great stay with them it was only a shame it was only for one night! We will be back soon.

The style of this hotel is "Retro or Shabby Chic". It works well in the public areas but in the rooms it means that there is some lack of space to put clothes if you are staying fore more than a couple of nights. That said, the beds were extremely comfortable. Some rooms have king size beds and those are... More

This is our hotel review page. If you would like to review the restaurant please visit The Georgian Townhouse Restaurant. Many thanks :) It's about far more than a coat of paint... At The Georgian Townhouse - or TGT as we like to call it - we've created a little hidden city oasis where you come to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Combine 'Georgian' - yet funky modern - interior design with an enormous walled garden, loads of locally sourced quality produce, exciting and evolving seasonal menus, a collection of heritage cooking methods, some stylish and versatile function rooms, an interesting mix of craft beers, wines and spirits, and you begin to envisage TGT: seamlessly merging Georgian charm with a modern offbeat attitude, lashings of style, an abundance of personality. This is a corner where everything is just right. Rooms now open - See you soon! ... more   less
