Lovely location by the river with riverside garden. Food is a Crown Carvery, which is cheap and satisfying. Fish is cooked to order so it's hot and the Carvery was well stocked. 2x2course meal a pint and a tonic water was less than £16!

Stayed 2 nights in room 18. 1 adult, 2 kids. Room was tired but large, and spotless! Easy check in, (no lift but offered help with bags). Room had kettle etc, sofa bed (already made up), wardrobe area, fan, hairdryer & large bathroom with shower - again very clean, (Terrible water pressure unfortunately & needs regrouping/painting but did the job)....

We stayed at room number 16. Room was clean, but bed was quite small for three people - me, my husband and my daughter. In the bathroom was a shower where the water pressure was low and drainer was fully blocked. We had a carvery dinner at crown restaurant. Dinner was nice food was hot and carvery was good. Also...

We always head to Norwich to start our Christmas shop so to save money I thought I'd combine my Virgin Experience Gift Voucher for a one night stay and also add on the second night. Parking was quite difficult as it's what I'd call lay by parking and some spaces would have been tight for people to drive through however...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Whether you're planning to explore historic Norwich or soak up the scenery of the Norfolk Broads, you'd be hard pushed to find a hotel as perfectly placed as this. Nestled in a lovely spot on the banks of the River Yare, opposite Whittingham Country Park, the lodge houses 14 warm and welcoming rooms as well as a Crown Carvery. So you can enjoy the tranquility of the area with your choice of roast, freshly steamed vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds. Norwich has some of the best medieval architecture in Britain with a Norman moat and Bailey Castle and a fine cathedral dating back to 1096. It's also home to the Norfolk Broads, the largest protected wetlands in the country. They're a mecca for sailors, motor-boaters, canoeists and fishing enthusiasts - although walkers, bird watchers and cyclists will find plenty to do without having to get wet. Norwich Aviation Museum is just up the road, too. ... more   less
