I’ve just arrived home from a fabulous nights stay at The Exhibitionist Hotel for a birthday treat from my partner. We also had tickets for the Cirque de Soleil so the Hotels location was just perfect for the short walk to the Royal Albert Hall.
We stayed in the “Drop dead gorgeous suite” and it was absolutely fabulous! The large basement room with Chanel theming was divided up with a lounge area with desk, sofa and hot drink making facilities. A bedroom area with a massive king size bed, wardrobes and a large wall mounted television. And best of all, a “spa area” with toilet, large shower, large bath and a two person hot tub complete with wall mounted tv!
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time trying out all the facilities! The bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well.
We had breakfast the next morning which was lovely and well presented. There was a good choice from continental to full English and everything in between. I had the full English, my partner the eggs Royale both beautifully cooked with perfect poached eggs.! The fresh croissants and pastries were lovely as well.
Before checking out, we took some time taking pictures of the various art pieces.
To sum up, we were both very impressed with the Exhibitionist Hotel. From the warm friendly welcome, it’s excellent location, relaxing vibe and the very friendly and helpful staff. We hope to come back again soon!

We stayed here for one night while exploring London. The main benefits of this hotel was cost (very inexpensive compared to other options in the same area) and the location (close to museums and the Piccadilly line).
The room itself was very small but as it was only one night it was no trouble. If you were staying longer I would upgrade to a bigger size room. The bathroom felt more spacious and the pressure of the shower was excellent - just what we needed after a long day of walking! The service was excellent from the check-in staff (though we didn’t eat or drink at the hotel) and everything was easy. The lift is very small so be prepared for that too!
We would probably stay here again, but would upgrade to a slightly bigger room for next time :)

Booked a room via their website for my girlfriends birthday. We arrived slightly early and were greeted warmly by receptionist who kindly allowed us to leave our bags at the site whilst we went out to the Science museum just a 5minute walk away. When we arrived to our room we were surprised by an upgrade, balloons and petals with a nice birthday card on the bed which was a really nice touch.
The room was nicely decorated, with complimentary biscuits, tea and coffee. The bathroom had a bathtub and walk in shower that was spacious and the water pressure was very good. The room itself was on the smaller side but still enough space for the 2 of us to be comfortable in. The bed and pillows were extremely comfy.
We did have plans to go out in the evening but decided to stay in and order room service, which we also enjoyed.
The location is excellent, a 5 minute walk will bring you to 3 museums and plenty of shops and restaurants.
Overall it's a great little hotel with very friendly staff that will make your experience here worthwhile. We will be returning!

I had my eye on this place for a while, intrigued by the name, funky decor and a promise of luxury which appear to be the main selling points. So while attending an event at Royal Albert hall it seemed like the perfect choice for an overnight stay.
The location is very good, ideal for links to central London, especially Natural History Museum, Royal Albert hall etc.
Having done some research prior to arrival, I emailed ahead with a couple of small requests, namely asking for a room away from the elevator (due to noise sensitivity), an extra pillow (due to being pregnant) and a decor in blue or green colour-scheme (picky perhaps but simply a personal preference). I received a prompt reply, politely explaining that my requests have been noted but cannot be guaranteed, fair enough I thought but remained hopeful since I didn’t ask for anything outrageous or extraordinary, just a bit of extra comfort.
We arrived before check-in time so the room wasn’t ready, but were greeted enthusiastically by reception staff and bags taken for storage. The downstairs lobby and hallway decor is indeed very cool and stylish, so these were good first impressions. However, when we returned later in the day and checked in, we were given a room right next to a noisy elevator, in a ghastly burgundy colour scheme and you guessed it, no extra pillow. Very disappointing, and a complete failure at guest satisfaction for a place aiming towards the higher end of the market.
The bedroom was fine if a little small and had all the basic provisions. The complimentary hospitality tray was well stocked with water, soft drinks, crisps etc, but the coffee machine had bad calcium stains and black mould around the water compartment, so clearly is not being cleaned and maintained properly. The bathroom, although nice and spacious, had a bit of a strange smell (as mentioned in some previous reviews) and the beautiful round bath had a big long hair in it. I have to point out that the branded toiletries provided were very good quality, as were the bathrobes and slippers.
I did not call the reception to report as I simply do not like complaining, also it was already late in the day and we were in a rush to get ready for going out. I just hope that the management take note of the feedback in order to improve attention to detail, increase cleanliness levels and thus ensure a more positive experience for future guests. It really isn’t hard and does not take much, the basics are there with quality and luxury touches, it’s just a shame that small details and service currently let it down. Sadly we will not be returning to find out whether improvements have been made.

Dear 754rasab, Thank you for taking the time to post such a detailed review on TripAdvisor. First of all I would like to apologise from the outset for the inconveniences we have caused you during your stay with us. With regards to the colour scheme of the room, it is unfortunately difficult to fulfil allocation requests at times. Simply because our hotel features only 37 rooms, however 4 different colour schemes as well as unique decorated Suites. That leaves us with less than 10 "green" rooms, which means that especially at busy times we are sometimes unable to accommodate such requests. Please do accept once again my sincerest apologies. I was very disappointed to read that we did not manage to provide you with the pillow you requested. The shortfalls in terms of cleanliness are not acceptable and do not reflect a true impression of our usual standards. Once again, I am very sorry for these shortfalls. I do hope that we will be able to welcoming you back in the future to experience a stay that is representative of our usual standards. With kind regards, Sarah Schmid Hotel Manager

We stayed for three nights to visit an exhibition and had selected the hotel based only on location and price . What a choice !!! Our room had everything we needed but was small and overlooked the street and a little noisy. After our first night we asked if we could see rooms which were larger and quieter. Zita the reception manager showed us 3 rooms all of which were excellent ,culminating with a penthouse suite with a roof terrace which she was able to make affordable for us for our last two nights. The room was huge, fabulous bed ,lounge , kitchen and intriguing art work at every turn . e.g .a golden calf at the foot of our bed! Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the welcoming and helpful staff and Zita was a role model for exceptional customer handling skills.
In every respect this hotel and it's staff surpassed our expectations on ever level.
We have stayed in many good hotels in this and other countries but the Exhibitionist and its staff have been right at the top of our good experiences.
We shall definitely return providing Zita is still employed there !!

My wife and I stayed here for our yearly trip to London to see Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall.
The hotel was a sensational find. I originally picked it because of its superb location, it being just off the Cromwell Road near to the Natural History Museum. The price was good too being just £99 for a Sunday night.
Once inside, the decor will blow you away, a mix of pop art, sculpture, graffiti and other art forms. The bedroom was clean and tidy with a good sized very comfortable bed. The bathroom was even better, a large bath and separate rainfall shower.
Breakfast was a choice of full English or continental. Buffet was a normal selection but with much better quantity items. The full English too was made up of good quality ingredients.
With all this said, the best things about the hotel was the staff, everyone we dealt with were extraordinarily pleasant, nothing seemed like too much trouble.
Very highly recommended.

Staying here for it’s close proximity to the royal Albert hall and museums! Absolutely fabulous hotel... can’t wait to stay again! Positivities: location, comfort, friendly staff that are happy to help, decent breakfast, pizza at midnight, has a luggage room for the check out day for extra exploring, happy hour cocktails, coffee machine and nibbles in the room, and a MASSIVE comfortable bed!
Negatives: definitely always book the suites!!!! I booked a balcony room and next time I wouldn’t book a balcony room again, I kind of expected a view with it, probably over expected but for the price upgrade I did expect more, I had a view of neighbouring chimneys and not much else, even on a bright day it was dark and dreary with no light, not an inviting place to be at all so didn’t even venture out there! Room was smaller than what you see in the photos too, but still lovely! Room was freezing though and no matter what it did with heaters it never quite warmed up! I was constantly cold even under duvet, But they do give you an extra mini rad! Lastly, the air con / heater was soooo loud, and even when it was off all you could hear was a constant hum, and draining noise probably from other rooms, was a bit annoying trying to sleep!
BUT... I would 100% stay again, I would 100% recommend to friends.. you won’t regret visiting just always opt for the best room available! Thanks guys for a wonderful stay!

Dear Laura-lizzie1, Thank you very much for reviewing your recent stay with us. I highly appreciate your glowing feedback, in particular when it comes to the service we provide to our guests. I am however sorry that the view from our balcony did not meet your expectations. Being a Victorian Town House in the Centre of South Kensington brings along that we are mainly surrounded by small muses, with the building simply not being high enough to offer views of Hyde Park or other London landmarks. Once again I am very sorry. The remainder of your comments with regards to the heating and the noise has been shared with our Maintenance Team, who will look into it in more detail. Thank you for recommending us to others; I truly hope we will get an opportunity to welcoming you back in the hopefully not too distant future. With kind regards, Sarah Schmid Hotel Manager

Stayed here on October 8th, booked last minute and was lucky they had availability.
Booked the Squint Splash room and the room itself was very quirky and the hot tub amazing, was worth the £170 I paid and in this Covid world having a private tub is probably better than staying somewhere with a shared one like a spa hotel. Shower was very good as well and bed super comfortable. Staff always pleasant and the hotel itself very quirky and fun.
Pros - Hot Tub (amazing!), Big Bath, Powerful shower, Spacious, Air Conditioning, Robes/Sandals/Plenty of Towels, Clean & Friendly.
Room for improvement - Had to contact the hotel as no mentions of check in/check out time on the website or confirmation email (they did reply quickly to email). Also enquired about car parking and was advised to go to the Union Carpark but its now called something else which was a little confusing to find and the guy there said its not been called the Union Carpark for a long time, but its at the end of the road and a very short walk (£50 to park overnight, but you do get a £10 discount if you mention your staying at the hotel). On the website/confirmation email the room advertises two TV's in the hot tub but only one TV and it only had music channels not normal ones, no big deal but important to get these things right. Also the amazing shower could do with something to help you know what switch does what, it was also left on the hottest mode so when we turned it on you had to reach into a boiling shower to try work out how to turn the temperature down, maybe missed by the cleaning team in that it was already on hot.
Overall a very good stay, probably nearer to 4.5 stars given the feedback mentioned above, those little things can make the difference and hopefully the hotels corrects these or details on their website. But main thing was a clean room, friendly service, a unique experience & of course the private hot tub!
Will stay again in future!

Was a fantastic spot very near South Kensington tube station with shops and supermarkets nearby too.
Lots of restaurant and cafe choices and Knightsbridge, harrods and all the museums within 10/15 mins leisurely walk away.
Hotel was good had a lovley stay away only a couple of points like the only hotel lift is very very small. Only fits 2 people in with bags. Had to either queue for the lift a few times or climb 4 stories to the room with shopping.
Room was also more compact then it looked in the pictures online, still very nice and well designed and decorated.
Also no welcome pack with WiFi password, checkout times, room service menu, local spots to visit. This is not essential but would have saved us having to constantly call reception to keep asking them.
But the staff here were so helpful nothing was too much even getting back late asking for items for the room was never a problem.
Also had a lazy lunch at the hotel with room service and the food was amazing and very well priced especially for the area.
Overall a very good spot for a short break away with shops, theater and restaurants nearby would recommend a visit.

Response from Sarah_Schmid1, Manager at The Exhibitionist Hotel

Dear Dale W, Thank you very much for taking the time to post a comment on TripAdvisor. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed the location of the hotel and found it convenient to plan your stay in London. On the other hand I am sorry that you were not satisfied with our lift. Whilst the lift is often praised as one of our art highlights, it unfortunately only accommodates 3 people. Thank you for your constructive feedback with regards to the hotel information. It seems that my colleagues at the Front Desk did not mention that all can be found on the TV menu - I do apologise for this inconvenience. I hope we will get a chance to welcoming you back in the near future. With kind regards, Sarah Schmid Hotel Manager

Firstly it took us a while to find the hotel! The sign is facing downwards so wasn’t completely visible as you walked down the street.
We were able to check in slightly earlier than planned which we were happy with.
Our room was a standard double but was soooo small not a lot of room to walk around the bed at all. The bedside tables and table below the tv were marble look it was really a naff plastic laminate on the top. The voile curtain pattern was covered in holes, cigarette burns and areas where they had attempted to see holes up. I’m sure it would have made more sense to buy another voile panel. The curtain tie backs were scruffy and worn too. The small velour chair at the dressing table (with no mirror) was covered in stains. The doors and wardrobes were covered in grubby fingerprints which was a bit off putting. The bathroom was lovely very modern and an excellent powerful shower. The bed was very comfortable.
We chose a continental breakfast which was lovely and delivered exactly when we asked.
It’s a shame that the size of the room and some maintenance / cleanliness issues haven’t been addressed they let this hotel down. The reception area just also appeared a bit scruffy just a desk randomly so laced in the room.
When we checked out I said thank you handed over the key and just got a bye no hope you had a nice stay.
The cost of the room was £170 with breakfast we paid using some vouchers we had for hotels.com so I didn’t complain about the small issues we found plus I didn’t want to ruin me and my husbands rare night away, but think if they spend a bit more time on the small things in the room then standards will improve.
The only thing that makes this hotel a 5 star would be its location I would say more of a 3 star.

Response from Sarah Schmid, General Manager at The Exhibitionist Hotel
Responded 9 Aug 2021
Dear Mummyemmy76, Thank you very much for taking the time to post a comment on TripAdvisor following your recent stay with us. I am sorry to learn that you had difficulties to find us. Being an Art Hotel, an upside down entrance sign is part of our exhibitions. Whilst I am pleased to read your comments about our breakfast and the early check in which we managed to accommodate, I am sorry that the room did not meet your expectations. Replacing the net curtains in all rooms is an ongoing project, I am therefore once again very sorry that yours was in an not acceptable state. Being a Victorian Town House, our starting category rooms are rather small, however we do get credited for their comfort. I do hope that our Art Exhibitions throughout the hotel, with which we pride ourselves with, contributed to make your stay feel special at The Exhibitionist. Kind regards, Sarah Schmid Hotel Manager

Hi, there is only 1 very small lift, but it doesn’t require a keycard. Hotel is small enough though not too many floors so stairs aren’t to extreme either if that helps.
Hi, not stayed in this suite but imagine it is amazing just like the rest of the hotel. Small hotel so very intimate and staff so friendly. Hotel decor is amazing and bar served up great cocktails. Our room was wonderful, much nicer than the photos. Such a quirky place and wonderful breakfast. I will def be going back. Hi for I
When we had one of the penthouse suites it was fine however we had one of the other rooms one time and the couple next door we’re having what could only be described as a party , I did eventually call down to reception who stopped it but it was a bit much .
Every other time it’s been ok
Menu is individually priced. Moderate prices. Only street parking in the area
