I originally booked Covent Garden Hotel but booking was transferred here as the other hotel was not yet open. I stayed in another member of the group, the SoHo hotel, about a decade ago so knew the design...
Life is different in this COVID time and this hotel fitted the new rules into daily life without any obvious drama.
Reception team lacked a little sparkle, although the concierge team were exceptional. It would have been nice for the receptionist who checked us in to verbally give us a run down of the guest areas/ breakfast times etc as we were left to find all this out ourselves with no info available in the rooms anymore.
Room was small, even by London standards. No bath which is always a disappointment. All that could be forgiven if it wasn’t for the fact that this must be the noisiest hotel in London! The street noise/shouting etc can be clearly heard from inside the room and went on until 2am both nights before starting again at 6am. Never had this before in any other London hotel. Hotel are not responsible for noisy people outside but surely the windows should have been installed with the location of the hotel in mind?
We did bowling which was fun and used the spa for manicures which was good.
Don’t know if I would rush back here. Normally stay in the St Martins Lane Hotel and definitely think it has the edge.

Stayed here with my partner for a birthday treat. Most expensive hotel I’ve stayed at and was worth every penny

The deluxe room was amazing, spacious, so comfortable and the marble and oak bathroom took my breath away. The bath was so deep and shower huge and everything was absolutely spotlessly clean. Nice touches were the Bose speaker, floor to ceiling blinds and personalised welcome note

We had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant. I had the dry aged rib eye and chips and was easily the most tasty steak I’ve ever eaten. My partner had the chicken and this was equally delicious, she loved the smooth mash

We had breakfast delivered to the room and again, this was so good! Great coffee and tea, good size portion and lovely scrambled egg. Was brought to us exactly when we wanted it

Highlight of the stay was the bowling. There are 4 lanes in the lower basement. It’s an old 1950’s alley with lots of kwirky art. We had an hour for £20 each which we thought was good value and it was a good laugh coupled with ice cold beers from the lane service

I really couldn’t fault this place. We weren’t the typical well-heeled customers in this place but we were made to feel equally as special. Will definitely be back for a treat in the future

probably one of if not the best hotel i have stayed at. no its not cheap, but boy is it worth it. it appears to be set up so that the needs of the guest come first, not very common nowadays.

It is beautifully decorated, throughout and well thought out. the lights in the bathroom mean you can actually see your face to do your makeup, there are lights in the wardrobe so you can actually see your clothes and a blind on the window so you can get the light without being seen. somebody has really paid attention to what a hotel room should provide.
our luxury room was really spacious and on the 4th floor so we got the sunlight. magical.

the staff were all very helpful really lovely and friendly, the food was fantastic, room service great really couldn't fault them.
it is also brilliantly placed. taxis take 2 mins to. come but we walked everywhere, the restaurants and shopping areas are so close but the hotel is an oasis of calm and space in the middle. nice to see the bar buzzing on Saturday night too!.

so can't fault anything, it was the most wonderful birthday weekend away in a totally fantastic hotel, just wish I could afford to do it more often!!!

I picked up the hotel for my next stay as it was in convinient area and high rated. The room was large and spotless. It was prepared with a lot of attention and care indeed. My suite was facing the couryard where in front there was two floor office windors with full of staff members. The large windows of my suite was useless as I felt I am in a shop display. Keeping thick curtains close all the time was not so pleasant. Room service was not impressive or adequate to the level of the hotel. I ordered 4 meals including deserts but it was brought to my room in one single tray put on top of each one and only 2 folks, no bread and butter for the meals and one napkin. Shame indeed. The waiter that collected the tray was surprised and he has brough more cutleries for my remaining meals and said he would advise the managers. I have received no feedback though. Breakfast was expensive but with some care. A lot of guys were supervisors in suit and ties but it was not easy to find any waiting staff who would collect the empty plates after the meal. I did not like the provided hot water temperature in shower. After two days when I spoke to reception staff member she has told me that this is hotel policy however there is small botton around of the shower tap to adjust the temperature as needed. Staff at the door is attentive, approachable and professional. As frequent London visitor probably I will not return to the hotel to avoid repetition of the issues with food service and room outlook. Also I did not like the message I have received 2 days before my arrival date where the hotel asked me to call and confirm my reservation by voice - I have never seen that anywhere else. Maybe that was also the hotel policy liks another stange thing I have seen.

The location is great and decor is nice in this boutique hotel, however, they are missing some of the basics to make a stay at £480/night enjoyable - No food/room service menu or other hotel info in the room at all, No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, TV low spec with no smart features so a very limited channel selection with no Apps. Breakfast didn't start till 7.30am when it was advertised at 7.00am and we had an early flight but no offer of a packed breakfast instead. Overall, not great value for money or a great experience for us.

Had afternoon tea with my mum and sisters. Good value for a London tea. The sandwiches were lovely but my favourites were the little savouries. Interesting selection of cakes too. The restaurant looked nice and was comfy, but I was dissapointed, as from photos I'd been expecting a conservatory or quieter lounge area instead of a noisy restaurant. The food took a good while to arrive and whilst the service was very polite and friendly no one really looked after us. Once the afternoon tea arrived we were left to it. We wouldn't have minded but we only had a small jug of milk between us and 2 tiny pots of cream. It's also nice to be offered hot water to top the tea pots up. We'd nearly finished before we could attract anyone's attention to get more which was a shame. So had nice time, but probably wouldn't go back.

We stayed at The Ham Yard for our wedding night and everything was perfect. The design and comfort in this hotel is unbeatable. Food and drink also exceptional. However, the best bit are the team- professional but genuine, caring and friendly. We left our room key on a table in a nearby restaurant and they made no issue and went to fetch it on our behalf. Andre in the room service department was brilliant- arranged for some special off menu pasta for us which was delicious. Thank you so much to the Ham Yard Team, can’t be easy in these challenging times. Jack and Poppy

Visited this hotel for dinner and viewed a few of their available rooms/suites. I completely blown away by their attentive and efficient staff. Reception staff were timely and accommodating at the last minute. The attention to detail in each room/suite far exceeded my expectations. Fire exits were clearly marked, rooms are disabled friendly, cleanliness is of utmost importance and comfort is definitely at the forefront of their service provision. The aforementioned is coupled with a a great team that worked cohesively in order to make me feel like the only customer in the world. Thank you

Hi
We have just returned from a weekend in London and stayed at the Ham Yard.
The hotel is very nice, as are the rooms & food, but how they treat you is beyond belief.
I should have realised something may be wrong when they charged my card for the room on arrival, I now know why.
They have many complaints, our experience is I would say typical to this hotel.
We tried to have a drink in the residence only roof top bar prior to visiting a local theatre, only to exit the lift to find locked doors and a sign informing us of a private function.
Not deterred from a pre theatre drink we went to the downstairs bar took a seat and then got told this table is reserved and no other tables were available.
So asked where then is the residents only area as they had booked out the roof top, only to be told don’t know.
Went to reception only to be told basically sorry but tuff, so the hotel promotes that they have a residence only roof top bar but only when it suits them clearly.
Left hotel no drink went elsewhere.
Upon our return around 10pm the bar was busy but as we walked though a couple were just vacating a table and offer us their table, just as we were taking our seat a waiter arrives and told us to get off the table as he had other people he had told co7ld have the table, at this point I either have a stand up argument with this guy or go to reception, to my wife’s relief I went to reception.
At this point the duty manager arrived and low and behold escorted us to the roof top bar which we were told on arrival Close’s at 9pm. We had the place to ourselves and a couple of drinks on the house and an apology.
So in summary if you want a good hotel with great customer service do not book this place, they are only interested in taking your money and not delivering any service.
In short they have lost sight of the fact that good customer service creates long term profit, and profits do not create good customer service, good management and staff training do.

Me and my girlfriend had a lovely afternoon tea at the Ham Yard hotel.
We sat in a peaceful and delightful setting in the the conservatory. The waitress who was serving us was very welcoming and friendly and introduced the menu and helped with us with anything.
We went for the classic afternoon tea and we had hot chocolate and it was delicious, the sandwiches, cakes and scones were presented beautifully and very yummy, the scones were so warm and fresh too. We were so full we had to take some of the cakes home which the put in a nice box and bag for us.
The price for an afternoon tea was £30 per person very reasonable as other hotels afternoon teas are about + £50 a head so very affordable and I will be coming back again.
Thank you
