A comfortable hotel in the quieter financial district of London. Lovely view of St Pauls and nice to be woken up by the bells chiming in the morning. Room was of a good size with two queen beds. Enough toiletries for your stay and my daughter enjoyed the ipod docking station in the room. On entering the hotel you are...

We did not stay at the hotel but visited the Ajala Spa and had lunch in their conference room. It was £25 to use the spa facilities; the lady who got us sorted was professional and friendly, we were provided with robes, towels and slippers. The swimming pool and sauna/steam room were great and the relaxation rooms were amazing. The...

I booked this hotel as a suprise for my fiance's birthday. Firstly, I booked the room on the website as it was the cheapest price, even compared with trivago etc. I opted for the standard superior room with continental breakfast in the morning but did add a note to the booking that it was for his birthday. On arrival, we...

We were seeing a show so booked this hotel and would definitely recommend. Car park nearby actually only cost us £2.50 for 24-hours! Honestly! And the room, staff and service were superb. Really could not fault and will be back.

My husband and I took advantage of the romantic package which was great value for money. We had a free upgrade to a room with a direct view of St Paul's , we enjoyed a lovely meal which was very tasty and beautifully presented. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, food was hot and regularly replenished. The massage included in...

Great hotel, great location. Spa was good. Massage was average to good. A very enjoyable stay however, reception staff were very slow. More staff required at peak times or better training perhaps. Breakfast was very good.

Stayed here for one night in Feb, we loved it. Great location, well laid out rooms and bathrooms, no noise from lift or other guests and most comfortable hotel bed I've slept on. We had a room with an internal view which we loved for its quirkiness. There is plenty of light as the roof of the internal area is...

This hotel is in a marvelous location, convenient to the financial district and the tube. The staff were nice and somewhat helpful, and seemed to be doing their best (although always a bit overwhelmed). There are a number of issues that I would not expect given the price. 1) The shower flooded the bathroom floor every morning of my week...

The worst thing about the hotel is the staff on reception, they are not properly trained and had the cheek to call me a liar. My key was not working for the THIRD time during just a two night stay and when I complained to reception they treated me like an idiot and as if it was my fault, after...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
