Stayed here on two separate occasions about a month apart. As you'd expect, it's very basic but it is clean. Given the cold weather, the rooms were very cold. There's a single electric heater they leave on all the time but it's not big enough for the room. The showers are not very good, very low pressure. The biggest issue...

Stayed at this Travelodge recently on business. Checked in by very helpful, friendly staff but soon as I got into my room my heart sank - every two minutes or so the room echoed and literally shook with the sound and vibration from the tube line immediately behind the hotel. I went straight back to reception to ask for another...

Good service and generally clean and tidy travelodge. Just do anything possible to be on the front of the hotel the rear backs out on to the tube and DLR and is extremely loud so much so that I was offered earplugs at check in!

It's not really situated in the best of places, and also sat right next to the train line. I checked in at 5pm and was told they were very busy and had to have a room facing the railway. I was giving ear plugs at reception, I thought they were joking but if you struggle to sleep you will need...

The place itself is pretty much like most Travelodges - functional. This particular one is very clean but what really males it stand out is the staff. I stayed last night with four colleagues and Raj and the man who took over from him at 11pm were absolutely fantastic. We had a lot of last minute work to complete before...

i have been staying at the Travelodge on and off for a few weeks for work. The staff are brilliant, so kind, attentive and friendly. It really makes for an enjoyable stay. The rooms are very nice, basic but very comfortable, especially the beds and pillows. I slept on the train side of the hotel and the trains didn't trouble...

The staff here are friendly. The aircon was not working in the my room and got the impression this might be the whole hotel. Not an issue in the winter but might be in the summer given the odd numbered rooms are next to the Railway line (last train 01:30) and you would have to open the window. 1st floor...

Great location close to Tower of London. Room clean and adequately furnished. Bit too close to railway line as trains can be noisy at night. Breakfast OK, but limited choice for vegetarians. Staff very helpful.

The staff at this hotel were very helpful and friendly. It is a little noisy on the side of the hotel that backs onto the train lines it is almost touching distance. If you are a light sleeper maybe it's not for you. This may be a particular problem in the summer if you want to open the windows as...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
