What a great hotel !! Spotlessly clean and very well presented. On arrival everything was explained and we were directed to our room. Very modern decor, modern tv with lots of different channels to choose from including a music one. The bathroom was large with a good size bath and a separate power shower. Lots of complimentary toiletries including shampoo,...

Stayed on a cold, wet and windy Friday night so did not even venture out of the hotel. From check-in to check-out the experience was very impressive. I stay in a lot of hotels due to my job and this one is right up there with the best of them. You could say the upgrade to a suite helped mind...

This was a brilliant hotel. Very modern and a great location. We had a view of the Tower Bridge. It is a very short walk to the Tower of London Tube station. The room was perfect. Large bed, big shower, big room for London. The staff was very polite and helpful. I proposed to my now Fiancee on the balcony...

Oh how we loved this hotel! Took a trip to London at a weekend to see a show and catch up with friends. As it was half term Covent Garden prices were steep so we took a punt on the very reasonable dinner, bed and breakfast deal at Apex City of London, figuring that the cost of taxi fares would...

We arrived at the hotel late at night and were literally just looking for a good night's sleep and a chance to freshen up before heading off the following morning. The hotel was clean and modern and our room was immaculate but apart from that we were really disappointed. The bed was two singles secured together and had a big...

Booked this hotel for a 2 night stay for New Year. Perfect location for doing the sights, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge are on your doorstep. Also very convenient is Tower Hill tube station for a quick hop into the West End. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Had the New Year's eve dinner which was delicious...

Stayed here as we had had a wonderful stay at one of the Apex's sister hotels in Edinburgh a few years ago and we were not disappointed. Location wise the hotel is minutes from Tower Hill tube station and of course ideal for visiting the Tower of London. I stayed seven nights (5 for business and 2 for pleasure) and...

Stayed there for 4 night's in February. Reception was nice and helpful, though not always fluent in English. Room on the 5th floor was spacious, the bathroom spotlessly cleaned. Mineral water, a kettle for coffee and tee was complementary. Good hair dryer was available. Wifi was working well throughout the whole hotel. Only one minor issue - the hotel is...

Booked a superior room with a Travelzoo offer which included a free bottle of prosecco, fantastic value (especially as we appear to have been upgraded to a deluxe room). Lovely room with sitting area, luxury bathroom, pleasant modern decoration and huge king sized bed. Service was faultless and I am really pleased to have received my jacket in the post...

My wife and I stayed here with our six year old son for the second time in December. The room was well appointed and of a good size. It was spotlessly clean. There is a fridge, sofa bed (if booking for three persons), a Tv, room safe, free news paper, and a kettle with a great selection of free coffee,...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
