Wife and self stayed here for 3 nights. We were visiting London as tourists and were looking for basic comforts, a location close to the usual tourist sights and quick access to public transportation. We got all of that and more. First the location...this Ibis is just round the corner from Aldgate East Tube Station which is served by the...

The bed in our room was very bad. I had pain in my back every morning, that was ruining my stay in London. Breakfast was good quality but boring, luckily we stayed only 3 nights. I would recommend this hotel, with restrictions.

If you are looking for a nice clean place in London city area this is a good choise. We were on a business trip with a breakfast meeting in City and we got what we were looking for: a fairly spacious room, a bed, a shower and some basic consierge service. On of us found the way to the ironing...

The hotel staff were a bit frazzled when I called prior to and during my stay because there's a lot of traffic in the hotel reception area. It's one of the very few hotels in London where you can reserve a room for 2 with (hot and continental) buffet breakfasts for under GBP120 per night. Most other hotels charge you...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the first leg of our European adventure! We were welcomed by exceptionally nice and helpful staff who told us everything we needed to know and answered all questions we had!! The rooms are lovely and clean and the location is very close to the tube!! Buffet breakfast was one of the best we...

I stayed at the Ibis London City in June 2011 while on a business trip. It is an average budget hotel, but there are a few things that you should be aware of if you decide to stay here. They do not provide hairdryers in the rooms. If you want a hairdryer, they have some at Reception but you have...

The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the location was very good for heading into the city or hitting Brick Lane for a curry. The continental breakfast was good but I didn't really think much of the hot food which is a shame as I was really looking forward to a good old 'full-english'. Overall, if the price...

My wife and I embarked on a month long holiday around Europe finishing in London. We tried to find somewhere that was known but also a fair price, in hind site I would prefer to pay more and stay somewhere else. In actual fact I believe there were other places for similar values that I'm sure would have been far...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
