We came to London to visit the Royal Albert Hall, and so wanted a fairly cheap place stay nearby. This hotel was perfect for that - somewhere to leave our bags, and a comfy bed to sleep in. It was quite a small room, but had everything we needed. The bathroom was pretty new, with an excellent shower. You could...

I never complain about hotels and have stayed in some rather not great budget hotel but this was too awful not to review. First off, no wifi beyond the first floor, very inconvenient as I needed to check into my flight, get directions, etc. Second, terrible sewage smell coming from bathroom. Closed the door to keep it out of room...

I was very nervous to stay for 3 nights based on previous reviews but in fact the room was perfectly fine. Yes its very small and the mattress was too big for the bedframe, and it was a pretty lumpy mattress. But for the price, and the location I had no complaints. Newly fitted ensuite was nice and clean, water...

Our room was in the basement floor, we had to climb tiny unstable metal steps to get there. The hotel is nearby the underground station and we were staying in the basement, this means that it was nearly impossible to sleep in there, considering that the subway passes by the station approx. every 5 minutes or even more often. At...

Really cheap and convenient! Close to Earls Court Tube. Room was clean but spartan. Cannot complain, as they offered me only £47 a day. Difficult to find such a deal in central London!😁 Double bed and ensuite toilet and shower, with TV, coffee/tea/kettle provided! No frills, but I would recommend for budget stayers.

If you can't stand the hollow, drumming noise of underground trains (running above ground at this point) just outside, don't stay at this hotel. Otherwise, it's excellent value for money - at this price you don't expect luxury, but it provides everything you need. A pane of glass in the entrance door was cracked, and the paint was dirty and...

This hotel was in a fantastic location only a couple of minutes walk from the tube station. It was located near McDonald's, KFC and subway with express supermarkets also only a short walk away. The room was small but not too bad considering the price. It was fairly clean as well. As we were only using it as a place...

Good things: good location and a nice shower. We had a room on the first floor. No problems with the tube noise there, like other people experienced (especially not when using earplugs). Bad things: Bedbugs.... We saw one walking on the wall and found a dead one in a drawer. But fortunately no bites. Room wasn't very clean. It was...

This hotel, if you can even call it that. More like hovel. Is terrible. From the staff who have no clue as to what is going on. The long narrow steep staircases. The fact that if you want in your room you better hope that the person in the next room isn't coming out or going in as you share...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
