After almost 5 years since my last stay at a Firmdale Hotel, it was SO good to be back! As soon as I walked into the lobby I felt that familiar, homely feeling and knew that nothing had changed. The wonderful staff, the gorgeous decor, the amazing breakfast, the faultless service and relaxed atmosphere -- The Soho Hotel just gets it absolutely right, every single time. I had the best sleep in 4 years in the most comfortable bed, enjoyed watching tv in the bath! You really cannot find a better place to stay, I enjoyed every second!
We are on a European trip with our entire family and this hotel was our last stop on the trip. We booked a 3 bed room suite and were so excited to stay here. We had heard service was amazing. We had an emergency come up on the trip and had to cut it short by 2 weeks. Unfortunately London would not happen this time. When we called to cancel we were informed that they would not refund us the 13 k for our room. We were told we could get a credit for 6 months. We won’t be in London any time soon so the credit was not a Benefit to us. For all the good things I had heard about this hotel. Our experience was as bad as anything I’ve ever experienced. Extremely disappointing and short sighted.
We spent an afternoon in the bar for some drinks and the service was impeccable. We particularly want to mention Mary-Jane who was extremely attentive and suggested some amazing cocktails. Her attention to detail made our day. The bar itself is lovely and although we didn't stay at the hotel, we would definitely love to in the future.
We came here for dinner and it was really nice. The atmosphere and service was top notch and the food was yummy. The £110 bill was eye-watering however for 2 (small) bowls of gnocchi, 2 carafes of sauv blanc and a bowl of olives but I guess it is a 5* hotel!
My son took me here for afternoon tea and it was lovely. Such a beautiful gem tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Soho. We had a lovely relaxed tea, and didn't feel rushed like in so many places where your table is only booked for a set amount of time. We were left to relax, chat and eat at our own pace for over 3 hours . I highly recommend a visit her. Beautiful decor, friendly staff and lovely tea.
I had drinks and a pudding in the stylish restaurant last night. We’d come from the heaving streets of Soho and on from another restaurant that was overcrowded and very noisy. This in contrast was a lovely oasis of calm. It wasn’t empty by any means but doesn’t have wall to wall people and noise either. Neither the drinks or puddings were cheap but they were very good and getting away from the crowds made it worth the additional pounds. I’d very happily revisit.
Good experience, room was clean and of a good size. Good location but staff could be more welcoming. Room service had good options and plenty of amenities around, easy to get transports and a huge amount of restaurants and bars around. I would come back.
My friend and I dined here last week, prior to a theatre visit. The doorman and reception staff were really welcoming, we were impressed but the hotel interior, lovely decor. Adam, the restaraunt Manager was outstanding. Supremely helpful from start to finish. He ensured we had a great table, was personable and chatty without being intrusive, utterly charming but proffessional. My friend and I were extremely impressed with the dining room's style and comfort, the two course pre theatre meal we enjoyed...but Adam totally made our evening!
Executive summary: nice hotel in a great location that tries hard to be different but misses in a few areas and is overpriced by at least 30%. Hotel general Great location Tucked away from the hustle of Soho Nice reception area, modern feeling decor Reception staff friendly (mostly) Room service quick and friendly, good food Lacks facilities (pool, gym) Breakfast good but remarkably expensive, nobody mentioned ‘breakfast included’ meant £30/head max Room rates overpriced by about a third Room “Interesting” decor (not everyone’s taste) No views and some rooms directly face offices who can see straight into your room No tea or coffee making facilities in room but very pricey minibar No USB charging points (odd, considering how new the hotel is) Small shower cubicle Room we were in was noisy in the morning (delivery trucks) Bed was ok but too soft for us Chromecast TV streaming didn’t work…
I had to cancel an overseas NYE trip because of travel restrictions so my partner and I treated ourselves to a staycation instead. I loved our room which was so much bigger than a usual city centre hotel room with huge loft style windows. The design scheme in the bedroom was really bright and colourful - although the bathroom was rather bland and corporate in comparison. The location is slap bang in the middle of Soho so you have your pick of bars and restaurants and shops on your doorstep although that does, of course, mean you get some street noise.
