Area not the best but was local to somewhere we were visiting. First impressions of the hotel were favourable and the room was lovely and hotel was clean and modern. It has a busy restaurant also. One thing I found strange was the info book in room had full menu including phone number for restaurant but I called to place...

Great little find with this boutique hotel. Excellent decor, room, facilities. Very clean and relaxing room. Very reasonably priced mini bar and nice toiletries. Very polite and accommodating staff. Great price for a brief stay in London and close to Tower and Whitechapel attractions. Could have done with more leg room between the loo and the bath is the only...

Rooms are small, but nicely decorated. The neighborhood is very marginal, and you get what you pay for I guess. Really didn't feel safe here in the evenings at all. Hotel doesn't seem to serve alcohol, but not sure if that was only over ramadan or something.

Upon arrival I was told that an engineer was fixing the Wi Fi however 2 nights later it still was 'under maintenance', which I later discovered was someone in the hotel resetting it when people complained. 2 of the floors in the hotel did not have any electricity for the first night of arrival and the elevator did not work....

This hotel is exceptional value, close to the financial districts. It offers basic and bright accommodation. However, I was unfamiliar with the hotel and spent a sleepless night having been woken up at 3.00 a.m. by a noisy party, who proceeded to shout, play music, knock on each other's rooms and generally make a nuisance of themselves, despite mine and...

On a short business trip, the hotel is conveniently located near Aldgate and the city. Modern feel, nice and clean with friendly staff. Cost approx £110 for the night which is reasonable and half the cost of many city hotels. You can walk to the city in 10-15 mins.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Whitechapel Hotel. The positives - colourful décor, friendly staff, safety deposit box in room, coffee-making facilities, flat screen TV, air-con, mini-bar in room (charged). The bedroom had a separate toilet / wet-room with toiletries. There is free high-speed Wi-Fi which worked well. The room was a reasonable size for a single room, although...

Arrived before we were due to check in and receptionist was happy to keep our luggage so we could go exploring the area. Stayed in room 3.4, room was just lovely! Shower was great, bed lovely and comfy. Couldn't fault the room at all. We stayed for 2 nights and would definitely stay there again. Have seen some reviews moaning...

My best friend and I went here for 2 nights. On Trivago, the rooms looked spacious and nicely decorated. All ammenities that we would need were present so we decided to book. After a 10-minute walk from the Whitechapel Underground station we arrived at the reception where the receptionist told us the system was down and she couldn't actually do...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
