First, the good points: staff was extremely friendly and helpful; we appreciated that. The room itself was large and comfortable, with a good space for work separate from sitting, visiting, etc. That feature was of particular value to us. Location is excellent. The neighborhood is quiet and calm, very pleasant. Nearby parks are charming. Several attractive restaurants available without even... More

We booked a double room with a shared bathroom. The location of the hotel is great-just 300 metres from the British Museum. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture and bedding of good quality. There was a kettle, some teabags, coffee, milk and sugar in the room which was a nice thing after a day of sightseeing . The... More

It's in the center of London, next door to the British Museum and less than 10 minutes walk to the underground station. The entire place is decorated with English tradition, the room was cozy althought a bit small, but what can you say with this location. The only shortcoming is there's no lift.

The Hotels location was excellent. It is 5 minutes walk from British Museum, and within a circle of half an hour walk to several attractions, such as Oxford street (for shopping), Trafalgar Square(Admiral Nelson Statue) and National Art Gallery, Soho area (for theatres/musicals and restaurants and food). I think there were 2 subway stations within 7-10 mins walk from the... More

It is always a pleasure to stay here, the staff are very friendly and the hotel is clean and comfortable with all the facilities we require. Whilst being very convenient for places like the British Museum and the west end it's only draw back is the lack of a lift. Although staff are always on hand should anyone need assistance... More

Where do I start? On arrival I was told that my front facing room was affected by ongoing work (scaffolding), but as a good will gesture I get one free drink. I let this go and all was fine. When I got to the room I had no view at all and I had to find out in a letter... More

We spent a weekend at this hotel celebrating a special birthday. Although the location was good, that's about the only thing good about this place. First of all, we could barely find the place as the whole front was covered in scaffolding. Secondly, when we get assigned a room, we find three builders in there, talking and smoking. We were... I booked via the Internet and received a confirmation email very quickly. Really simple and straightforward However on arrival I found that I had been upgraded to the sister hotel across the room. Now this was code for either we are undergoing refurbishment or we've double booked - I couldn't be sure which. A simple email telling me that I... More

I spent a long weekend at the Lancaster with my cousin, we arrived before allocated check in time and waited in the hotel lobby while the receptionist checked to see if our room was available, thankfully it was and she kindly checked us in early (7am flight from Dublin meant we were zombies and probably looked like we needed a... The service and breakfast were wonderful. They were very helpful with directions and schedules. Breakfast options were huge and delicious. Our room was clean, small, and a hike to get to. But, we were in shape for the challenge!
