CitizenM Bankside is a great hotel about 10 minutes of walking distance from London Borough station. The hotel itself is in a very quiet street. Nearby is waterloo with several great restaurants, Borough market and the whole area by the bankside with Tate Modern and tons of restaurants, bars, attractions and the lovely walk by the water ofcourse. Location wise,...

Stayed here a few days after finding out about this chain by staying in the Glasgow CitizenM. More crowded and bustling than my experience in Glasgow, but I suppose that's to be expected. Otherwise, another great experience. Love the decor. The room was identical to Glasgow. The only difference was the sluggish Samsung tablet as compared to the iPad in...

The hotel has great interior with warm reception and bar area. It is a nice place to chill in the evening to have drinks. The rooms are nice and cozy. Just a bit small but worked just fine for us for a quick a getaway with great pricing. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is thoughtfully designed and presented. The decor is colourful, interesting, funky. Like the idea of open area both bar, plenty of different sorts of seating, nice food. The rooms are small but very functional and more than adequate fro people who are out most of the day. There is a small fridge in the room, which is handy....

Great place 6 months ago. Now atttacting a greying, older crowd. Somewhat explains the higher prices and worse bar atmosphere. Staff are still brilliant and offer is still good but fellow guests mean this place is past its best.

We stayed a night for the rugby world cup, found the gentleman on the check in desk very helpful as it was our first time. Room was very clean, not overly large but big enough the bed is huge and very comfortable. The tablet is very easy to use and free WiFi and films are appreciated. We went to get...

Cool hotel where you're able to control your room with a tablet (although this didn't kick in for me until my second day). There's free wifi and in walking distance to the tube, shops and restaurants. Friendly staff and breakfast is okay.

Great experience and would thoroughly recommend for an overnight stay in the heart of London. Self check in confused some guests but really very simple. Rooms are very small but provide everything you need for a short stay at a great price for the location.

Trendy hotel with small comfortable rooms with a shower. Clean. Lights, TV, radio & curtains operated with iPad. Would not book it for a family stay, but perfect for business trips. Cosy bar for a drink or to work. 5 min walk from tube.

Great hotel for city trip. Price/value is excellent. It was one of the best hotels I have been in the last years. Staff is very friendly and it is worth to just relax at the hotel's bar. I really loved it.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
