we stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had a pleasant stay. I will say the rooms are extremely tiny, even for London's standards. It is very modern decor, and I love the sound system and ipad in the room. It kind of felt like if Apple had made a hotel, this would be it. Everything was very modern...

I stayed at CitizenM for one night after getting a great deal on Booking.com. I can't recommend it enough. Location is spot on - a really short walk from both Southwark or London Bridge tube stations and very close to the Southbank area, Borough Market etc. Service was really friendly and staff really went out of their way to help,...

I stayed in this hotel in the summer with my partner. This isn't the first time of us staying in one of the citizen m hotels as they are great and such a good price! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from a tube station and a 15 minute walk from the London eye. The staff were very friendly...

Hotel great, staff helpful and polite. Rooms brilliant, although small they serve the purpose for what we needed. Area quiet for London. Rooms were modern and clean. Ipads to control everything was a nice touch, free movies and it was husbands birthday and we were offered a couple of free drinks which was nice. Free wifi, 24 hour bar and...

Good value for money, close to Southwark station, and the best bed in the world. The ipad with all the controls on was a nice touch and the mood lighting etc made the room so cosy. And free films were good for the hangover in the morning. Would definitely stay again!

Travel frequently and spent 6months "living" in the M; always make an effort to stay over and above the heavy hitters, Hilton, Marriott etc; Staff are so welcoming and unpretentious; Beds are amazing. I struggle to fault the hotel in all honesty, other than sometimes its fully booked when I want a room; the restaurant, Vapianos (across the road) is...

We were in London for the NY's holiday and originally only staying in Citizen M for 2 nights until the 30th as we booked the Four Seasons to spend NYE. We changed our mind after we checked into Citizen M as their services was awesome. The friendly services won our hearts (be it present wrapping paper or to help book...

Stayed in this hotel for an evening in the West End. Has a great stay. Dinner on the Southbank and a great show. The hotel room was compact, but functional. Great connectivity. Loved the tablet that controlled the room (optional - it still has switches). The communal areas are great. Lots of space to have a bite to eat, or...

Have visited a few times now and cannot fault this hotel! The staff are incredibly welcoming and are always eager to help. I love the relaxed atmosphere of this hotel and a great amount of effort has gone into making your stay as low-fuss as possible. The self service check in machines make it so much easier to check in...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
